TOPIC: SALVATION FROM ALL SINS
SEPTEMBER Thursday 27th
TEXT: John 3:16-18
KEY VERSE: But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Matthew 24: 13
Salvation means deliverance from sin and its consequences: spiritual bondage, fear, disease and death, which is eternal damnation in hell fire. The soul that sinneth, it shall die. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” It is an expression of God’s love to mankind. Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God’s plan in redemption is to restore mankind to the high and holy estate from which he fell, through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The finished work of Christ on the cross can bring us complete restoration to true righteousness and holiness. There is no other way to heaven except though Jesus Christ of Nazareth (Acts 4:12; John 14:6). Salvation is not complete without the purity of life. You must be sanctified and live a new life in the power of the Holy Spirit.
The salvation that comes through Jesus Christ is a mystery. It causes a spiritual regeneration that transforms you into a new being. It reveals the grace of God manifested in forgiveness of sin which enables us to enter a personal relationship with Him and become sons and daughters of God. It deals effectively with the sin issue in our lives in three stages:
a) The past stage of salvation saves us from past sins. (Acts 10:43, Rom. 4:5-7)
b) The present stage of salvation saves us from the practice and control of sin in our daily lives (1Jn. 3:6-9)
c) The future stage of salvation makes it impossible for us to sin anymore. We shall be like the holy angels. This future salvation is the ultimate goal of all Christians. (1 Peter 1:5; 1 Cor. 9:24-27).
Thank God for the grace that brings salvation and continues to contend for the faith in truth, righteousness and holiness.
Thought for the day: Persevere in faith, for he who endures to the end will be saved.
Song for the day: Will you be ready when the Lord shall come?
Bible reading for the day:
Isaiah 10-12; Galatians 5
