TOPIC: LET NO MAN DESPISE THY YOUTH, BE AN EXAMPLE TO OTHERS
SEPTEMBER Saturday 15th

TEXT: 2 Thessalonians 3:7-9
KEY VERSE: Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4: 12

You might have just begun your Christian life or probably you are a young man and have to deal with older men. The scripture is saying, let no man despise thy youth. Rather, set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Do not be a jester, talking and laughing uncontrollably and giving no peace to the environment. That would be setting a bad example that will defile the environment. There was a woman that always cut off a protruded part of the chicken whenever she was cutting it to cook. One day, somebody who had been observing her asked why she cut that part off, noting that it was the part some people love to eat. She laughed and said that was how she saw her mother doing it. The person asked, “You didn’t ask your mother why she cuts it off?” She explained that she didn’t ask but saw her doing it and she too began to do the same. The person went to her mother and asked, “Mama, your daughter said she learnt something from you; that this portion of the chicken should be cut off before cooking, what is the reason?” She too laughed and said, “That is how I saw my mother doing it.” Perhaps if it were possible to continue the enquiry up to the great grandmother the answer would have been the same.

Let people see goodness in you and emulate it. You will be spreading good. Righteous character, edifying words, good manners will be spreading and blessing people. The way you live your life will influence people around you and promote righteousness, Christian love, friendliness, gentleness and it will put smile on people’s faces. People will learn and spread the goodness to others. Be an example to others in your relationship with God and your devotional life. Be an example in faith and in overcoming fear. Elisha’s servant learnt from Elisha. The enemy surrounded them but Elisha was unmoved. Teach your children how to believe God. Teach the church, teach the family, practice it. Be an example in holiness, in a pure heart, in undefiled dressing. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your goodness and glorify your Father in heaven. The Lord bless you, the Lord give grace to you.  Amen.

Thought for the day:  Christian maturity does not come by age but through obedience.
Song for the day:    My life shall be a testimony.
Bible reading for the day:

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
