TOPIC: THE SECRET OF A PEACEFUL LIFE (5) – LIVE IN RIGTHEOUSNESS
SEPTEMBER Tuesday 11th

TEXT: Isaiah 32:16-18
KEY VERSE: Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Psalm 85: 10
Get righteousness and peace will follow. Have you noticed that when you offend somebody you don’t have peace until you go and say, “I am sorry for what I did?” It is like when a dust particle gets into your eye, you don’t have peace until it is removed.  You will be restless and your eyes will be blinking, running water until somebody comes around to help you blow it out. Once the disturbing particle is out, you become peaceful and you can now blink normally without any stress. What the dirt particle does to the eye is what sin does to your life. It makes you restless. You have spoken some lies, so you are always afraid. You have gone into immorality, you will become afraid – afraid of unwanted pregnancy, afraid of contacting the HIV virus or being found out by your wife or husband, so you become restless.
There was a story about a particular young boy in the University of Abuja who was approached by a woman to help her out in her academics. This young man did not have a good understanding of the risk involved in allowing a woman to come to his room or maybe he thought he could restrain himself for he was a virgin. One day, that woman came visiting and this heavy rain started. The rain stretched into the night such that the woman could not go home again. She slept in the boy’s room. Now Satan is at work. Before he knew it, he had slept with the woman and in the process he contacted the HIV virus. Since then, he lost his peace. The misadventure of just one night took away the peace of a lifetime! Be righteous and you will see peace because righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Do that which is right and you will be fine. Are you constantly faced with temptation? Commit it to Jesus in prayer.
A woman was always fighting with her husband so she approached a pastor for solution. Sensing the cause of the problem, the pastor applied wisdom and gave her candle wax that was moulded like a small ball. He told her, “Anytime your husband picks quarrel with you, go into the room and put this medicine in your mouth but make sure he doesn’t see it.” She did this over time and to her surprise, the husband started to mellow down because while she kept the object in her mouth, she too couldn’t reply the husband. She thought it was the “medicine” working, but the truth is that the object kept her from sinning, so righteousness and peace kissed each other in her home.

Thought for the day:  Righteousness promotes peace. Do not forsake it.
Song for the day:    We have come to thee o Lord (2x) ... That it might be well with us
Bible reading for the day:
Proverbs 19-20; 2 Corinthians 3

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
