TOPIC: FAITH IS BASED ON THE NAME OF JESUS
SEPTEMBER Sunday 16th

TEXT: Acts 3:1-7

KEY VERSE: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4: 12

Faith is based on the name of Jesus. Act 3:16  And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. Sometime ago, HOREMOW brethren went to hire speakers for a crusade that was coming up in Benin City. As they negotiated, they told the man it was for a crusade where Pastor Rika would be ministering. The man said he would give out the speakers at N60,000. Meanwhile, there was a woman standing nearby who overheard the discussion. She was excited when she heard that Pastor Rika was coming to town. She came over and said, “You mean pastor Rika that I have been enjoying his message is coming to town? I am giving a donation of N50,000 for the speaker.” That was just the name of Pastor Rika, not Jesus. Who is pastor Rika that his name would be so honoured? If the name of men could open doors, how much more the Name of Jesus, the Name that is above every other name. Jesus says, “Ask the Father anything in my name.”

The requirement of faith is that you believe without seeing. Do not practice your Christianity like Thomas who only believed after seeing. Believing without seeing produces great result. In our days, faith has been perverted. It has been put away and overthrown. 1 Timothy 1:19 “Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck.”  Some healing, deliverance and prosperity ministers have overthrown the faith of many in the church by introducing various objects to replace faith in Jesus. They have introduced sand from River Jordan, holy water, anointing oil, aprons, handkerchiefs, combs etc. 2 Timothy 2:17-18 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. They have turned to idols. Spirit of error is performing miracles. God is not there. God cannot be in competition with idols.

Thought for the day: Jesus is the object of faith.
Song for the day:   In the name of Jesus every knee shall bow
Bible reading for the day:
Proverbs 30-31; 2 Corinthians 8

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
