TOPIC: HOW TO PRAY 

TEXT: JOHN 14:12-14
12. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father. 
13. And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14. If ye shall ask any thing in My name, I will do it.

KEY VERSE: JOHN 14:14 “If ye shall ask anything in My name, I will do it”

“Ask in My name” means ask in My place, for My sake, for My glory, as My representative. Whatsoever you shall ask in My name, it shall be given unto you. Whatever resources you need for the work of God, ask and I will supply the materials and resources you need to do the work; to live the Christian life; to make you evangelize and be fruitful in life. 

Ask for what you need to make you a better Christian; a stronger believer and more effective as a Christian? Whatever you need that will make you better in Christ, stronger in Christ, more fruitful in Christ, more joyful in Christ, ask and it shall be given unto you that is what the Lord is saying.

God wants you to ask. Whatsoever you can ask that will move God to demonstrate His power in your life and cause His name to spread all over and move people to give glory to Him everywhere that is what God wants. But He says you must ask in righteousness: 

“If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you” (John 15:7). 

Make sure you live the Christian life as an obedient child of God, committed to the ordinance of Christ. Make sure that you abide in Christ and the word of truth abides in you. Make sure you live by the word in your personal, marital, family, business and academic life. Then you can ask because you belong to God as a child of God. 

The Bible tells us of Daniel, when the people made the king to decree that whosoever prayed to any other God except to the king, the same should be thrown into the lion's den. When Daniel saw that he was about to be thrown to the lions, he prayed and asked God to seal up the mouth of the lions and it was so. When Daniel was thrown into the den of the lions, their mouths were sealed. Yes, God can do anything for you that will give Him glory and bring you joy. Therefore, ask anything in His Name and it shall be given unto you. God heard the prayer of righteous Daniel.
