HOLINESS REVIVAL MOVEMENT WORLDWIDE HOREMOW
DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR PAUL RIKA INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR.
DATE: TUESDAY JULY 7, 2026.
TOPIC: SERVE GOD FOR WHO HE IS, AND NOT WHAT HE GIVES.
TEXT: JOB 1:12-22
12. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
13. And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
14. And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:
15. And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
16. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
17. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
18. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
19. And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
20. Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
21. And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
22. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
KEY VERSE: 1:22 “In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly”.
Many Youths today come to church or participate in conferences because they want to have immediate benefit. Some are there because they want God to give them admission, employment, financial connection or a partner in life. Whenever their desires are not met or after getting those things and eventually crisis sets in or challenges comes in, and due to the fact that they are not rooted in the Lord they are easily overcome by the devil.
Every believer, Youth or Adult must strive to grow and mature in the Lord so that temptation will not sweep them off. The scripture says Daniel, a holy Youth served God continuously in his days with fervent prayer, without respect of person and overcame Satan. Job was upright and eschewed evil, and when Satan lunched coordinated attacks on his belongings and Children, he survived in holiness.
Abstaining from all kinds of sin is the remedy to overcome Satan’s ploys against believers. The kingdom of Satan is organized, and it takes only the prayerful, strong in faith and holy in life to withstand him. Do you know that Satan is intelligent? How was he able to organize all the calamities against Job at the same time? Imagine these incidents happening to you in close succession? His oxen were taken away and his servants except one were slain.
While he was yet speaking, there came another, reporting that fire fell from heaven and his sheep and servants, except one were consumed; as he was still hearing him, another came reporting that his camels were carried away by the Chaldeans; and worst still, his children died while drinking wine in their elder brother’s house. Satan organized these incidence to overwhelm Job. If Job was not original, serving God for who He is, he would have been cleared off by Satan. If you are serving God for material things of this life and Satan organised a coordinated attacks on your life, you will fall.
Thought for the day: Whatever your challenges in life, maintained your integrity.
Song for the day: Until I reach my home (2x) I will never, never stop my journey…..
Bible reading for the day: Proverbs 24-26
