HOLINESS REVIVAL MOVEMENT WORLDWIDE HOREMOW
DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR PAUL RIKA INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR.
DATE: SUNDAY JULY 19, 2026.
TOPIC: THE DEVOTIONAL LIFE OF A LEADER
TEXT: 2 TIMOTHY 2:15-18
15. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
17. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenæus and Philetus;
18. Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
KEY VERSE: SONGS OF SOLOMON 1:6 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
Do you study the Bible or do you preach to others whereas you do not find it easy with your personal time with God? That is another thing ministers do. As you grow up and become busier, personal devotional life becomes more difficult. If this is not overcome, personal relationship with God will cease.
You may flow well in service, you flow well when you come to the pulpit, but remember that is only a gift; a calling. You do not go to heaven because you have a gift. You go to heaven because you practice the truth. Your devotional life might be taken away from you by Satan. Satan can give you more opportunity to serve, to be in the leadership position and keep you busy and then take away heaven from you.
When thy servant was busy here and there, the person was gone away that was given to me to keep. Are you too busy for God? Busy in business, looking for money to the point that your Christian life is abandoned? Your devotional life with God is no more: No more time in the morning, no more time in the day, no more time in the evening. Is that how you live?.
Paul said, “I will never be a cast away after people have seen me work among them, preach on the streets, known me as a pastor, invited me to several places, after people had been healed by me; will they not see me in heaven? Never! I will not allow that.” This is what has happened to others.
Your devotional life is gone, and your prayer life is not there again. You scarcely pray for ten minutes. The devil has taken it away because that which you have not done for a long time is difficult to recover. You have given it a big gap. To pull down is easier than to build. That is how it is with a devotional life with God. Take time to recover your relationship with God.
Thought for the day: Your devotional life with God is more important than service.
Song for the day: In the morning, early in the morning I will rise ..
Bible reading for the day: Isaiah 29-31
