TOPIC: GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN
AUGUST Monday 27th

TEXT: Philippians: 4:11-13

KEY VERSE: But godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6: 6

Why don't you wait on God for your needs? Why must you steal to pay your children’s school fees? Is it not a curse the father is bringing on the children through the accursed thing? You want to mortgage their lives to Satan? Why not be patient with God as you wait on His promise? The Bible says in Psalm 37:25, “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”

In one of the locations I pastored in Deeper Life Bible Church, I paid my tithe as usual during one of the services. Surprisingly, when the offering and tithes were counted after service to enable us take some money and buy something we needed for the church, the whole money was less than the tithe I paid. More surprisingly, another member said he too had paid a tithe which was even higher than mine. Where is the money? We enquired from the ushers but innocence was written all over their faces, yet at least one of them was a thief.  We then decided that collections during service should no longer be taken to the cash counting room but kept beside the presiding pastor at the altar until after service when counting could be properly supervised. One Sunday, there was power outage after offering bags had been placed beside the pastor. By the time light was restored, one of the bags had developed legs and dropped somewhere close to the altar. Apparently, the thieving usher had panicked and dropped the bag he or she was making away with when the light was restored.

In Serra Leone, there was an old usher the church leadership trusted so much. Unknown to them, she had been dividing the offering and helping herself with half. It was after she came to Holiness Revival Movement and learnt about restitution that she went to the church and confessed her sin and took them to the house she built with stolen offering money. Only contentment can make you rejoice in what God has given you, however small or big. Lack of contentment will make you covetous and unappreciative of God’s grace upon your life. That would be adding sin upon sin.

Thought for the day: Be contented and thankful for what you have.
Song for the day:   Amen, I have found Jesus, Amen, He is able to do all things.
Bible reading for the day:  Psalm 132-135; 1 Corinthians 8

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
