TOPIC: A DIFFERENT AGENDA         AUGUST Friday 10th
TEXT: John 6:66-71

KEY VERSE: Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the Majesty of the LORD. Isaiah 26: 10

John 12:4-6, “Then saith one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray Him, Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.” In matters of eternal life, Judas had a different agenda. When many disciples deserted Jesus, Judas was among the twelve that remained, but not for eternal life. He remained because cheap money was available and nobody seemed to be checking his record. As holy as HOREMOW is, we still have in our midst people of questionable character like Judas.  Although Jesus allowed Judas to continue the stealing, He had His reason. But in HOREMOW, we cannot afford to close our eyes, otherwise one person will come one day and clear everything we have and the work will suffer.

Matthew 26:14-16, “Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver Him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.” Judas had lived with Jesus for three-and-half years as his Teacher, Preacher, Mentor yet he was ready to betray Him for just thirty pieces of silver. That was the value Judas placed on the life of His Saviour. It was apparent that the motivating factor in the life of Judas was money. It would appear that whatever noble objective he pursued, the underlying motive was to gain some financial benefits. He had the same opportunity as John, Peter and the other disciples but the love of money overtook him and sent him to hell where he has been for over 2,000 years. Learn a lesson from his life and stop stealing from God. Stop stealing from anybody and stop being covetous. Be content with what you have.

Thought for the day: Make eternal life your primary agenda in this life.
Song for the day: Eternal, eternal life (x2) … I want to live eternal life
Bible reading for the day: Psalm 88-89; Romans 10

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
