TOPIC:  FAITH IS BELEIVING AND ACTING ON THE WORD OF GOD
AUGUST Thursday 30th

TEXT: Romans 1:16-17

KEY VERSE: Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. Hebrews 10: 38

Faith is to be understood in two respects. The first aspect refers to teachings delivered to the church which is the whole bible. Revelation of divine truth delivered unto us. Teachings on repentance, salvation, restitution, sanctification, baptism in Holy Ghost, prayer etc. Jude 1:3, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. The second aspect of faith is active faith, which makes you contact God for His blessing, miracle and power that you might receive the desires of your heart. It is active faith that connects a sinner to God to receive salvation, that connects the sick to receive healing and that connects the dying to receive life. Hebrews 11:1-3, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

Faith is agreeing with the word of God, believing the word and acting on it. Peter believed the word, acted on it and walked on water. Peter believed, acted on the word and caught boat-sinking haul of fishes. After acting on the word you wait patiently for the outcome like the farmer who patiently waits for harvest time. With faith, result could be immediate as Peter caught great multitude of fish or later as Abraham waited 25 years to receive the child of promise.  Faith is based on righteousness. The righteous shall live by faith. Anything done without faith is sin. Hebrews 11:4, “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.”

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
