TOPIC: SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT OF HEAVEN-BOUND CHRISTIAN
AUGUST Thursday 16th

TEXT: 2 Timothy 2:14-16
KEY VERSE: Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119: 11

The Christian that is heaven-bound must follow certain principles for her spiritual development in order to make her journey smooth.

1. Study The Word Of God Diligently. The word of God will keep you from sinning against God. Study to pattern your life after our Lord Jesus and to live a pure life. You will be pure in your thoughts, deeds, dressing and utterance. Through study you will have more knowledge of God that will take away ignorance and make you walk in the light. Your spiritual eyes will be opened. The word of God is a powerful weapon of war to break and tear asunder everything that raises itself against the purpose of God in your life. The word is a Guardian. Through it you will be prosperous. The word will give you courage and boldness.
2. Diligence In Prayer. It is the offensive weapon of the Saint. Satan will not want you to pray so he will bring obsessions and oppressions that will distract you from praying. Develop personal prayer life. A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian. Bring your needs to God in prayers and God will answer you. Wrestle in prayer because the Lord is nigh unto those that call on Him. Some situations may demand adding fasting to your prayer (Matthew 17:21).
3. Self-Discipline. Fasting is part of self-discipline. Also, control your tongue. Discipline your mouth. Put your mouth under guard. Don't be a talkative because of heaven (James 3:5-6).
Lying, gossips, exaggerating, dirty jokes can set the whole body on fire. Your speech should be pure and free from corruption. Like salt it should edify and have flavour (Colossians 4:6).
4. Read Good Christian Literatures. Take time to read and study them. Spend your money to get spiritual development. Take time to listen to inspired messages.
5. Avoid Bad Companions. Separate yourself from them because they are not ready for heaven. 1 Corinthians 15:33, “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”
The benefits of spiritual development include development of fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and making yourself available to be used as a vessel of honour (2 Timothy 2:19-20).

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
