TOPIC: FEAR NOT
 AUGUST SUNDAY 5th

TEXT: Isaiah 41:13-14

KEY VERSE: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1: 7

Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat. Fear is amplified when we perceive that such a situation is beyond our capacity to contain or handle.  A barren woman fears that she would never have a child and her husband may eventually abandon her for another woman. A difficult financial situation may create fear of inability to shoulder family responsibilities and possibly ejection by the landlord or even the children being sent home from school for failure to pay their school fees. Circumstances that create fear will always arise, but our ability to continue to trust God in the face of life’s adversity is the only antidote to overcoming it. Knowing that nothing happens to us without the knowledge of our omniscient God should give us confidence and comfort that the situation is under divine control.

There is nothing you are passing through that is uncommon to man. It has happened to somebody else before. In fact, somebody has experienced something worse. It is worry that creates fear. Your worry cannot reverse the situation, it will only aggravate it and possibly harm your health. God who allowed it to happen to you knows how to get you out of it if only you can stop worrying and being afraid, but trust in Him. The bible says in Matthew 10:29-31, “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” God is saying, “Before this thing happened to you I know about it. If I wanted to, I could have averted it. I allowed it to happen for a purpose. Bear it as I work out a solution in my own time.” If you do not manage your crisis under faith, Satan will introduce fear into your life and lead you into error. Your desire for quick solution will make you take hasty decision like king Saul and lead you into sin.

Thought for the day: Fear not. That Goliath in your life will fall.
Song for the day: Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, because He lives all fear is gone.....
Bible reading for the day: Psalm 75-77; Romans 6

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
