TOPIC: RECOVERING YOUR DEVOTIONAL LIFE  

TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:13-17
13. “But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 
14. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 
15. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 
16. Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 
17. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”

KEY VERSE: EPHESIANS 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 

You allowed the devil to pull down your prayer life and your study life through a busy life. You allowed the devil to affect you badly through laziness. What will you do now? Samson, when will your blind eyes be opened again? You allowed the devil to pluck it out. You were so careless, and it is gone. How will you recover, Samson, now that Satan has cut-short your ministry?.

Please, watch out. It will take discipline to stay by the Bible. It will take discipline to pray. The television and handsets that have taken you over, watch it! They have taken over your prayer life. Watching this and watching that; the internet has said this and that. You have no more time for God. 

Samson, the Philistines are upon your life!. The spirit of death is pursuing you; the spirit of hell is running after you to take away spirituality from your life. Jesus said, “Peter, Satan has desired to have you, to sift you as wheat. The fine particles have been sifted out of your life. 

It is very unfortunate that many people have lost their prayer life; many people have lost their fasting life. They carry this Christian life just like that, dragging themselves without holiness. You have lost that which will make you holy; the refined particles and the virtues of righteousness which come through sound devotional life with God. 

How then can you be holy? You are now a Christian just by name. It is the rough particles of the wheat that we can now see. The fine powder has been removed because the devil kept you busy doing another thing. May be the devil kept you busy in business or whatever. You are so busy going for extra courses, extra studies and extra this and that. 

Overtime and more work till the lights are gone! Oh Lord, grant the hair of Samson to grow again. May the Lord pour the oil of revival upon your life that you will go and recover; that you will build back again and recover your righteousness in Jesus. It is God that is speaking to you. Read the Bible, listen to messages, and prayer often. 

Thought for the day: Do not be careless. Always watch and pray.
