But where are the nine?” Luke 17:17. It is common for men to display ingratitude over kindness received in life due to their impure heart and ignorance of life. On the contrary, God commands true Christians to be thankful to Him for everything and to their fellow men for any kindness they receive in word and deed. We shall consider cases in scripture where men manifested ingratitude, whereas the godly ones manifested gratitude. It is evil to respond with wickedness to an act of pure love! Ten lepers pleaded with Jesus to heal them. Jesus told them to go and show themselves to the priest. On the way they were healed. One returned to give thanks. The others did not.
