TOPIC: CLARIFICATIONS ON USE OF THREAD AND CUTTING OF HAIR      OCTOBER Tuesday 30th TEXT: 1 Peter 3: 1-6 KEY VERSE: Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 1 Peter 3: 3 QUESTION: When preaching to people and sharing HOREMOW materials, some of them will tell you that, if weavon is a sin then the thread that you are using to plait your hair is also a sin. They will ask us, do you know where that thread you are using came from? So I just want you to say something about it. Then the other question is about cutting of hair. Is it when you cut all your hair that the glory is gone or when you just cut it low cut? I want to know if cutting our hair is a sin. ANSWER: There is nothing wrong with plaiting your hair modestly with thread as long as you are not worldly in your design. Thread has been in use for many years before hair attachment came out. He is fully convinced that God is always with him in his problems and in his prospects. He knows that at the end of the tunnel, light shall replace darkness for him.  The just man knows that God will always come to his help at critical moments of life.  When the enemies besiege him, he is conscious of help coming to him from above.  That is why the Psalmist says he is not afraid. TOPIC: ASK ME TO DO IT FOR YOU      OCTOBER Friday 26th TEXT: Ezekiel 36: 25-37 KEY VERSE: Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock. Ezekiel 36: 37 “Then shall I sprinkle clean water upon you…” Can you see God promising to save the sinners, promising to give you a new heart: a heart of love, a heart of holiness, a heart of obedience? He is promising to perfect you. Among many other things, He said: “And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments, and do them.” Ezekiel 36:27. In other words, God is saying, “I will give you My Spirit, and give you my grace, and put my power of righteousness within you that will cause you to live your life without offending me.” Doesn’t God know that you need the grace from Him to live a righteous life? John 17: 17 The Gospel of Sanctification deals with inner cleansing, inner purity, the purity of heart. The believer has become part of the church. The Bible says, Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it. For God so loved the world that He gave Jesus for it on the cross. Christ now loved the church and gave Himself for it. The death on the cross has dual purpose: (1). Bring the sinner to salvation in Christ; (2). Bring the believer to sanctification and purity of the heart.  So that is the message the believers need to hear: that your heart can be purified. The envious heart wishes that only himself should be recognized among others as being good, successful and gifted. He is not comfortable when others are praised along with him or when someone performs better than him. The envious man does not appreciate the blessings, virtues or good performance of others. Psalm 65: 2 We know that God is holy. He is merciful. He is kind and possesses many other attributes. But do you know that there is an attribute of God that is not well known to many? TOPIC: STRANGE DIMENSION IN USE OF ANOINTING OIL        OCTOBER Friday 19th TEXT: 1 Corinthians 14: 36-40 KEY VERSE: Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5: 22 The use of anointing oil for healing of the sick is mentioned once by James, but then, you find anointing oil in another dimension in the present church. They use anointing oil to anoint ministers, where did you get the example from? Jesus did not anoint His disciples with oil; He didn’t anoint the Apostles with oil. The apostles did not anoint their under-ministers, under-shepherds with oil. When Paul and Barnabas were being commissioned to a missionary journey, the elders of the church did not anoint them with oil. They fasted and laid their hands upon them and prayed and released them. Jeremiah 4: 30 QUESTION: I heard from some people that the use of powder is not a sin but I told them it is a sin. Please tell us something about it in the bible, because some of us that have babies or children we still use powder for them. Even when we have rashes we still use them. They that believe in God are the all-time overcomers in life. Life is generally warfare. The battle is between the forces of light and darkness. Before the battle begins, it is already settled that the force of light will prevail.  The winning secret is the righteousness of the saint.  People of darkness cannot be righteous, so they remain the losers. TOPIC: GET RID OF ANGER      OCTOBER Monday 15th TEXT: Matthew 5: 17-25 KEY VERSE: Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4: 26-27 Anger is a natural feeling of pain and displeasure arising from the heart against a person for a bad action or against a bad circumstance. Anger has a high tendency of causing people to sin and of defiling a holy person. The emotion of anger seeks to take over the reasoning and demands immediate action. Be careful of what thoughts you allow into your mind, what words you allow through your mouth and what action you take when you are angry. Ask yourself the following questions when you are angry: Am I right to be angry at this person or circumstance? Am I not truly at fault? Am I not misunderstanding issues here? Have I gathered sufficient facts on this matter? Is this person actually wrong? Is this circumstance actually unfavourable? You

TOPIC: DON’T SHIFT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GOD      OCTOBER Sunday 14th TEXT: 2 Corinthians 10: 3-6 KEY VERSE: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon Me, and ye shall go and pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you. Jeremiah 29: 11-12 God is saying in the key verse, “Don’t shift your responsibility to Me. TOPIC: HOW DO YOU COME TO HOLINESS?        OCTOBER Friday 12th TEXT: Mark 16: 15-16 KEY VERSE: Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1 Peter 1: 16  You are going to the sinners and you are preaching the gospel, the good news of salvation in Christ to him and what is the gospel? The Kingdom of God is at hand, repent ye and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. So that is the gospel. Preach repentance and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ; not just repentance alone, but repentance and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ. This is both an exhortation and an instruction to every believer to relate with God personally.  God expects you to exercise personal faith in Him so that you may live. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4: 18 The Scripture says that there is no fear in love, because fear has torment. Fear is an instrument in the hand of Satan to torment man and render him weak and powerless. Ffear comes from the way a man thinks and reasons. Hence Satan tries to dictate the thought a person should think through suggestions and impartation of ideas to the mind. The thought of fear that plagues your mind against righteous decision and action is not from you nor from God, but from Satan. Amen. 1 John 5: 21 QUESTION: I am perplexed by the way anointing oil is generally used by many churches. I understand from scriptures from the book of Exodus 30:23 down, that it was mentioned. Secondly, what is the basis for the use of mantles? In the Acts of apostles, we are made to understand that aprons and handkerchiefs were being taken from the body of Apostle Paul for the healing of the sick. ANSWER: Concerning anointing oil, the scripture you quoted says, see that nobody makes anything of this like. That anointing oil was made specifically to anoint Aaron and his children and the instruments of the tabernacle. It didn’t go beyond that. In fact it was not the anointing oil used to anoint kings.
