TOPIC: INDEPENDENCE FROM SIN        OCTOBER Monday 1st TEXT: Romans 6: 6-16 KEY VERSE: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His Name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Luke 24: 47 Sin is a great taskmaster. You must desire to be set free from its power, passions and penalty. Independence from sin can only be obtained through Jesus Christ. Forgiveness of sin means cancelation of sin, removal of sin, the cleansing of sin, the change of life. From our key verse, and that repentance and remission or forgiveness of sin should be preached in His name among all nations. This which Jesus say we should preached, is it what somebody will confess today and tomorrow he goes back to the same thing? No. He that is born of God does not commit sin for his faith is in Him, he does not sin because he is born of God, that’s forgiveness of sins; your sins have been forgiven, you don’t sin anymore because you have become

TOPIC: REMOVE THE OBSTACLE TO YOUR HEAVENLY RACE (6) – MONEY   SEPTEMBER Sunday 30th TEXT: 1 Timothy 6:7-10 KEY VERSE: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6: 24 You cannot serve God and money. Bible says in Matthew 22:37 Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. But there are people that love money with all their heart, soul and strength. How can such people serve God when their mind, soul and everything is on money? A man was in church and preaching was going on but he was thinking about business and how to make a gain of N10,000. At that moment the preacher said, “Praise the Lord” and the man responded, “Ten thousand Naira.” Some people are in HOREMOW to make money. Everywhere they go, they seek for opportunity to make money. TOPIC: DILIGENT HOLY LIFE SEPTEMBER Saturday 29th TEXT: Hebrews 6:9-12 KEY VERSE: Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23 Diligence means carefulness, thoughtfulness, thoroughness. Holiness is the life of God and diligence is required to live it. You are practicing it on earth in order to be with Him in eternity. A diligent holy life is a life that shuns sin, that is obedient and submissive to the word of God. You are practicing it here in anticipation of appearing before God in heaven.   All your focus is on heaven. All you are doing is for heaven. All roads in your life should lead to heaven. All activities in your life, all relationships should be geared towards heaven. Hebrews 12:14, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” Do things appropriately towards people. Settle quarrels and differences without compromising on God's stan

OPIC: YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE SEPTEMBER Friday 28th TEXT: Genesis 22:1-13 KEY VERSE: Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 2 Peter 3: 14 Men are often full of excuses to avoid responsibility, even when God is involved. Moses came up with lots of excuses and even suggested that God should appoint another person in his place. Jonah ran away from the assignment he was given; but not so with father Abraham. When God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, he had enough reasons not to do so but he obeyed. 1. An Only Son. God emphasized to him, “It is your only son.” This is the only son Abraham bore after 25 years of marriage and it was in old age. It was a miracle birth because Sarah, his wife, was already past child-bearing age. To sacrifice Isaac meant he might never have an heir through his legal marriage. It also meant the promise of God

Matthew 24: 13 Salvation means deliverance from sin and its consequences: spiritual bondage, fear, disease and death, which is eternal damnation in hell fire. The soul that sinneth, it shall die. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” It is an expression of God’s love to mankind. Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God’s plan in redemption is to restore mankind to the high and holy estate from which he fell, through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The finished work of Christ on the

TOPIC: SUBMIT FOR EXAMINATION TO PERFECT YOU FOR HEAVEN    SEPTEMBER Wednesday 26th TEXT: Psalm 139:23-24  KEY VERSE: Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. Psalm 26: 2 Correction and rebuke according to scripture are essential that a man may be perfect. Job says, “That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.” Job 34:32. That is the voice of he that wants to go to heaven. Nobody should oppose being examined or audited for the wise and righteous says in Psalm 26:2, “Examine me, O Lord , and prove me; try my reins and my heart.” If Satan examines people why don't you want yourself examined for righteousness. Why are you afraid? Is it not better to be examined now for the perfection of your salvation than to be examined after death when correction is no longer possible? Even Jesus submitted Himself to examination by Satan who found nothing in him. John 14:30  Hereafter I will

TOPIC: GOD'S PROMISES FOR FAITHFUL WIDOWS SEPTEMBER Tuesday 25th TEXT: Isaiah 54:6-17 KEY VERSE: Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. Isaiah 62: 4 The first thing that strikes a widow is fear. How do I mange without my husband? The second thing is shame, then loneliness. But God is saying it is nothing to worry about for He is able to fill the vacuum in the widow’s life. Here are the promises of God to the widow in Isaiah 54. • Fear not, for you will not be put to shame (v.4) • Your Maker is now your husband (v.5). The way God, your new husband will treat you, you will not remember your widowhood again. He is your Redeemer who will save you from the vultures in this world and take away your reproach. Do not run after men to do you kindness. God Himself wi

TOPIC: THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TRUE AND A NOMINAL CHRISTIAN    SEPTEMBER Monday 24th TEXT: 1 Corinthians 3:1-3 KEY VERSE: Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 2 Corinthians 13: 5 Romans 9:6, “For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel.” Not all Christians are true Christians. Not everyone you find in the church is a true believer. A true Christian is revealed by his or her Christ-like character. Acts 11:26, “And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” The adjective “Christian” is a distinguishing identity. It refers to a person that has the life or gene of Christ in him. It refers to somebody who walks not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. The Christian is a light illuminating the dark world and a role model that others pattern their lives after. Let us look at some key a

TOPIC: POLLUTION IN THE CHURCH  SEPTEMBER Sunday 23rd TEXT: Jeremiah 10:20-21 Key Verse: Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. Isaiah 56: 11 This is a continuation of the revelation Jesus gave on America and Christianity. He took me to see the churches and the pastors presiding over them. He told me, “The dollar has changed the mentality of the pastors and preachers. Satan has turned their heads upside down. What they preach about is the dollar. Some pastors and preachers who knew me in other countries came into America and became loose and lost control, because of the power of the dollar. The foods, water and air in the country are charged and polluted with evils. Only two percent (2%) of those living in this country can access God if they truly desire so, but even that with difficulty, because o

TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING SANCTIFICATION AND HOLY LIVING  SEPTEMBER Saturday 22 TEXT: Ephesians 5:25-27 KEY VERSE: Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 20: 7 Most churches do not believe it is possible to live a holy life. They say, “We are all sinners.” They say, “Nobody is perfect.” They say these things because they have never been in an environment of perfection or seen a holy man. They want to make Jesus a liar who says, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48. The Shunamite woman had a better understanding of God and His holiness than most pastors of today.  Having observed the life of Prophet Elisha for some time, she made a confession of his piety. 2 Kings 4:9, “And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.” Acts 26:18, “To open their eyes, and to turn them

TOPIC: PAUL, A CLASSICAL EXAMPLE IN EXEMPLARY LIFE   SEPTEMBER Friday 21st TEXT: 2 Timothy 3:10-14 KEY VERSE: Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Philippians 4: 9 Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 11:1, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” That was a bold statement from a Christian leader. Paul could make such a statement because, since his conversion, he had lived an exemplary life devoid of offence toward God and man. Paul lived a highly focused life that glorified God and edified men. Paul’s life practically dragged people along with him on the way to heaven. He took the lead and others followed. He was a later-day apostle but he testified in 1 Corinthians 15:9-10, “For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his

TOPIC: GOING TO HEAVEN IS A SERIOUS BUSINESS SEPTEMBER Thursday 20th TEXT: Luke 13:23-24 KEY VERSE: So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. Matthew 20: 16 The error most people make is that they have trivialized Christianity and hardly see it as a serious business. This is particular so among Christians who believe that the grace of God has accomplished all that needs to be done and all you need to do is just to confess the Name of Jesus and go back to your normal way of life. This is the grand-deception of Satan to make people become complacent and live carelessly to the jeopardy of their salvation. Satan knows what it takes to miss heaven but many Christians don’t know. They know the truth about God but not all the truth that can save them. Satan capitalizes on their ignorance and half-knowledge. They are in the church but out of the way of eternal life. They are zealous for the work of

TOPIC: SET THE STANDARD, OTHERS WILL FOLLOW SEPTEMBER Wednesday 19th TEXT:  Daniel 1:8-12 KEY VERSE: And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2: 2 Going to heaven is an individualistic race and serious business. It takes determination and unwavering commitment to get there. If you can take your righteousness to this level it will become beneficial to others as well. Daniel took a personal decision not to eat the defiled meal of the king but it had a positive influence on his friends. Some of the brothers and sisters around you in Holiness Revival Movement have not fully understood the calling you have received. TOPIC: GOD WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR REMNANT FROM SATAN  SEPTEMBER Tuesday 18th TEXT: Matthew 7:21-23 KEY VERSE: But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 8: 12 2 Corinthians 7:1, “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” If you go to the market to buy fruits and your mangoes fall to the ground, you will definitely pick them up. They are still eatable and beneficial to you because when you get home you will wash and eat them. Suppose as they fell a goat roaming nearby came and started eating one of them and as you drove it away it dropped the mango. Will you gather the remnant of the goat with the clean ones and take home to eat? Certainly not! You paid for all the mangoes quite all right, but one of them is now defiled and no more suitable

John 15: 14 Should a child argue with his father? Does it make sense? Is he wiser? If it is foolish to argue with your father, how much more to argue with your Creator! Can you teach Him knowledge or show him the way of understanding? (Read Isaiah 40:13-14). Never argue with your Creator. Whatever he says, do it. Even if it sounds stupid, still do it. Why? The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of man. The worst of God is better than the best of man. Wise people know this truth about God and live by it. The reward of their wisdom is bountiful harvest they reap in this world and in life after. When the wine finished at Cana wedding, Mary told the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.” In other words, don’t argue, don’t question it, don’t doubt it. The result was remarkable. The choice

TOPIC: FAITH IS BASED ON THE NAME OF JESUS SEPTEMBER Sunday 16th TEXT: Acts 3:1-7 KEY VERSE: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4: 12 Faith is based on the name of Jesus. Act 3:16  And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. Sometime ago, HOREMOW brethren went to hire speakers for a crusade that was coming up in Benin City. As they negotiated, they told the man it was for a crusade where Pastor Rika would be ministering. The man said he would give out the speakers at N60,000. Meanwhile, there was a woman standing nearby who overheard the discussion. She was excited when she heard that Pastor Rika was coming to town. The scripture is saying, let no man despise thy youth. Rather, set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Do not be a jester, talking and laughing uncontrollably and giving no peace to the environment. That would be setting a bad example that will defile the environment. There was a woman that always cut off a protruded part of the chicken whenever she was cutting it to cook. One day, somebody who had been observing her asked why she cut that part off, noting that it was the part some people love to eat. She

Philippians 3: 14 The devil is on rampage and men are careless and carefree. Why is the Devil walking up and down the earth (Job 1:7)? God is warning but men are not perceiving. The devil is busy but men are sleeping. Bible describes the Devil as an adversary who is roaming about seeking whom to devour. God is telling you “Be sober and vigilant” (1 Peter 5:8). Be vigilant because the Devil has entered everywhere. The devil is in government, in the family, schools, churches, media and everywhere to stop you from going to heaven. Resist him and be presented to God perfect because God cannot manage you. When a goat eats part of a mango and drops the remaining on the road, you don’t pick it up to eat.  God cannot take the remaining part of you that Satan has already abused. He will prefer to go empty hande

TOPIC: THE LOVE OF THE DOLLAR IS THE ROOT OF EVILS IN AMERICA   SEPTEMBER Thursday 13th TEXT: Proverbs 3:13-18 Key Verse: For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6: 10 Revelation on America continues… 1 Timothy 6:6-10 But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love,

TOPIC: YOU ARE A TEACHER TO MANY SEPTEMBER Wednesday 12th TEXT: Acts 20:33-34 KEY VERSE: Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe: 1 Thessalonians 2: 10  The believer is a role model. Younger believers are watching your life and will pattern their lives after you. Non-believers are also watching you to teach them righteousness. Therefore, you are a teacher and mentor to many even though you may not perceive this. The writer of Hebrews says we are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses. You are a leader in your own right. When I was in government as an accountant, I was going somewhere with my Director-General and it was the season for the harvest of new groundnuts. TOPIC: THE SECRET OF A PEACEFUL LIFE (5) – LIVE IN RIGTHEOUSNESS  SEPTEMBER Tuesday 11th TEXT: Isaiah 32:16-18 KEY VERSE: Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Psalm 85: 10 Get righteousness and peace will follow. Have you noticed that when you offend somebody you don’t have peace until you go and say, “I am sorry for what I did?” It is like when a dust particle gets into your eye, you don’t have peace until it is removed.  You will be restless and your eyes will be blinking, running water until somebody comes around to help you blow it out. Once the disturbing particle is out, you become peaceful and you can now blink normally without any stress. What the dirt particle does to the eye is what sin does to your life. It makes you restless. You have spoken some lies, so you are always afraid. You have gone into immorality, you will become afraid – afraid of unwanted pregnancy, afraid of conta

TOPIC: YOU ARE NOT ALONE   September Monday 10th TEXT: 1 Kings 19:1-4, 9-10 KEY VERSE: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10: 13 Are you feeling alone in righteousness? Do you sometimes get worried that you are standing alone on most issues, often taking an opposing stand from other people? It cannot be otherwise and I want to assure you that you are not alone. Other righteous men and women before you had taken similar stand, notwithstanding opposition of the multitude. Even now, saints all over the world are doing the same. You may be accused of overzealousness, don’t bother. They may call you names such as, holy, holy. Don’t worry. Believers all over the world are facing similar persecution and mockery from this sinful

TOPIC: DELAY IS NOT DENIAL, PERSIST IN PRAYERS SEPTEMBER Sunday 9th TEXT: Luke 18:1-8 KEY VERSE: Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5: 17 What you call delay is divine timing in the eyes of God for there is time for everything, even for receiving answer to prayer. Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Jesus told his brothers, “My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.” Men are always in a hurry for everything, but God has his own timing, He cannot be rushed. Divine timing is the best timing because it comes at the right time. After a long season of draught, Elijah knew by divine inspiration that it was time to pray for rain. He proclaimed to king Ahab that the long-awaited rain was about to fall. He said, “There is a sound of abundance of rain.” So, Elijah went up the top of the mountain to pray for rain, but there was no rain - not even a sign. He was not

Gideon was saying to himself, who am I, what is my father’s house? But he kept receiving encouragement, “Go and fight against the Midianites, I will deliver them into your hands.” Gideon was not sure it was even God speaking to him. To erase all doubts he asked for multiple signs. He got the first sign, got the second, got the third up to the fourth before he became fully convinced and ready to go into full battle. Bible says you are fearfully and wonderfully created. What a delighting good news! You are a special being because of all God’s creation, you are the only one that lives for eternity, beyond this world. Other creatures of God die and perish in this world, but you are different. Direction precedes miracle and breakthrough. Proverbs 14:12, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Jesus is the Way, the only Person that can show you the right way to go. Jesus is the Truth, the only One that cannot deceive or lead you astray. Jesus is the Life, the only One that can give you the fullness of life. Matthew 23: 14 Widowhood can come at any time. It is not something you plan for but it just happens. The load and tensions of widowhood are much. Practical examination of widowhood shows the following challenges confronting widows: 1. Grief And Sorrow. It can last a long time because no man can take immediate place of the husband. Grief comes not only because of the loss of husband, but because of the accusation of men. In some places it is thought that if the husband dies it is the wife that killed him. Matthew 10: 37 If you desire to satisfy the wish of your family members all the time, they will make you miss heaven.
