TOPIC: THE TESTIMONIES OF PETER ISAAC (1): BEWARE OF SATAN INSPIRED DREAMS
TEXT: JEREMIAH 45:1-5
1. The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
2. Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch;
3. Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.
4. Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.
5. And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
KEY VERSE: 1 THESSALONIANS 5:22 “Abstain from all appearance of evil.”
My name is Peter Isaac from Suleja zone. I give thanks to God for all that He has done in my life. I came across the testimony of Sister Linda in 2013 when I was still in my denominational church. Whenever people testify of the love of God, I would wonder if it is only these people that God loves.
As a youth, I had a strong desire to become a professional footballer so I started to train with others. At the early stage I was a bit fat and since my friends were mocking me, I decided to burn the fat and maintain the physique of an athlete. I embarked on strenuous exercises, jogging far distances from Madalla to Kagini and back from 4 am daily and within a short time I achieved my aim.
I had stamina to run around in the field of play for rapid sprinting and for prolonged running up and down to tackle opponents. I had dreams of becoming a celebrity as a foreign- based professional footballer. I thought those dreams and thoughts were from God. I never knew they were from the devil.
I left Abuja in 2019 to Delta State and joined a football academy in Isoko local government area. The first day of full training and match practice was very hard and I began to have second thoughts of continuing to pursue a career in professional football. As I thought over it, a strange power entered into me and I suddenly felt very strong and keyed into the routine of hard work in that academy.
I joined them in the rigorous training which was like soldiers training for war because we wanted to impress scouts of Europe-based clubs who were on the lookout for young, gifted talents. They usually watched out for physique, stamina, ball control, skills and body language of future stars. I trained with them for some months before I got connected to someone who picked interest in sending me to England.
He processed all my documents; national identity card, passport, tickets and even made provision for date of the flight, vehicle to pick me up at the airport and deposit for the accommodation I would stay over there. I was very happy for the breakthrough. I was interested in travelling by end of 2019 but he decided to fix the journey for March, 2020.
Thought for the day: Pray to confirm if your dreams and aspirations are from God
Song for the day: My lifetime, I will give God my lifetime…
Bible reading for the day: Isaiah 4-8
