TOPIC: GOD'S PERFECT PLAN FOR MARRIAGE  

TEXT GENESIS 2:18-25

18. And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

19. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

20. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

21. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 

22. And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 

23. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

25. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

KEY VERSE: JEREMIAH 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not evil, to give you an expected end. 

Marriage was instituted by God from the beginning of the creation of man. God himself said it is not good that the man should be alone. He made a woman to be a companion to him as a wife. Therefore, when you come of age as a man you need to marry. Similarly, a woman needs to be a wife to a man when she comes to that age. Marriage is a good thing.

Marriage is a good and honorable thing. That a man gets married to a woman is something God honors, angels honor, men and women on earth honor. If the saints who have departed would hear about it, they will honor it. The church and society honor it. The parents of both spouses honor it. 

There is a respect the world give to those who are married, rich or poor, godly or not godly. Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. (Hebrews 13:4).

Marriage is part of God`s plan to raise Christian families. Monogamy is the perfect will of God in marriage (one man, and one wife) polygamy and other forms of marriage like same sex marriage and third gender marriage; Temporary marriages, cohabitation are not God`s plan and is sinful and evil, which will attracts God's eternal judgment at the end, except there is repentance and restitution.
