TOPIC: DO NOTHING FOR SELF-PROMOTION

TEXT: 3 JOHN 1:9-11
9. I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.
10. Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
11. Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

KEY VERSE: 3 JOHN 1:9 I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.

Actually, this is the bane of the matter that has dimmed the light of righteousness in churches. Is the desire to promote self. The desire for fame among ministers. It is very, very common thing. You may be doing it unconsciously. You may not even be aware of trying to project yourself; always trying to be noticed. Everything to be done do, you are available. You are in a hurry to do everything by yourself with a zeal that is not justified by righteousness and holiness.

So, there are three key words in members that are involved in self-advertisement; pride, greed and avarice. These are key words to consider in this subject. Man by nature loves fame. He wants to be known. It should be that he is the best to do this and he should be noticed.

Our Father in the Lord Pastor Paul Rika told us sometimes ago about somebody he does not know. And the man was busy trying to have a snapshot with him, so that he can use that picture. Because the evil that is taking place in the social media platforms is a terrible thing.

Because somebody can use your picture and go and say that he is on an assignment. Of course, you see he is standing with you in a very close range. So, what will you do? There are people like that whose duty is to promote self. They project self. They want to be noticed.

Why this self-recognition? Because they want to be noticed. They want to be seen as the best. In all circumstances, they find themselves coming forward, projecting themselves.

This self-advertisement will not allow you to be calm and peaceful. Follow orderliness in everything that is to be done and the Lord will keep you. Self-advertisement is the main problem that the contemporary church is facing because everybody is in a drive to promote self. Everybody is seeking to promote self; not the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. January Saturday 18th TOPIC: HOW TO ATTAIN BIBLE HOLINESS TEXT: Romans 6:20-23 KEY VERSE: Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. Besides the essential knowledge of the holy life of a Christian, it is good to understand the manner and process of becoming holy before God. Holiness of life is a life that has overcome sin through the saving power of Jesus Christ. Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. It is a life that does not commit sin. 1John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Getting this experience requires four things: 1. Know that apart from holiness, there is no alternative lifestyle for heaven. Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holin...
