TOPIC: HAVE A PERFECT HEART BEFORE GOD LIKE ASA

TEXT 1 KINGS 8:57-61
57. The LORD our God be with us, as He was with our fathers: let Him not leave us, nor forsake us:
58. That He may incline our hearts unto Him, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments, and His statutes, and His judgments, which He commanded our fathers.
59. And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that He maintain the cause of His servant, and the cause of His people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:
60. That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.
61. Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in His statutes, and to keep His commandments, as at this day.

KEY VERSE 1 KINGS 15:14. But the high places were not removed: nevertheless, Asa’s heart was perfect with the Lord all his days’

From the text, Asa was perfect all the days of his life. His heart was perfect with the Lord. Why did your own collapse on the way? His heart was steady, sincere and he never fell. He was a leader yet his heart never fell because of money, women, honor, pride or alcohol. His heart was perfect before the God of heaven.

In 2 Kings 20:1- In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying, I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight.

And Hezekiah wept sore. And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,. Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

A man that is perfect and knows himself. If you are perfect, you will know. If you are not sinning, you will know for faith is different from doubt. When the Lord told Hezekiah he was going to die, he said, God why? Why am I going to die? No, I'm not feeling like dying now.

But I have been very sincere in all my ways. I never played hypocrisy. My heart is not lusting. I am not proud before my people. I am sincere and perfect. I have a pure heart. I am working for You. No, God, I will not die. God answered his prayers.

Thought for the day: Be ye perfect to attract God’s Mercy.

Song for the day. LORD reach me Your ways, I want to know Your ways…

KEY VERSE: It came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said, Lord, teach us how to pray as John taught his disciples. Luke 11: 1. When Jesus Christ came to us in the flesh, He went into the business of prayer because He was promoting the attribute of God as a prayer-answering God. He would not render that attribute idle or redundant. Nobody knew how John did it, but Jesus reveals here that the success you saw in the ministry of John the Baptist, the victory you saw in his ministry, is because he was a prayer man. John so much valued prayer. He saw the essentials of pr...
