TOPIC: THE REWARDS OF GIVERS IN THE BIBLE

TEXT: HEBREWS 6:10-15
10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward His name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
11. And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
12. That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
13. For when God made promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no greater, He sware by Himself,
14. Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
15. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

KEY VERSE: PHILIPPIANS 4:19. But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Let us examine some givers in the scripture to see what blessings followed them from their service of righteousness.

Barzillai. The Bible gave account of this blessed giver in 2 Samuel 17:27-29. God had promised to establish his kingship over Israel forever and Jesus Christ the Son of God would come into the world in the Name of Son of David and to rule mankind forever.

Satan wanted to disrupt this Divine plan; hence, he stirred up Absalom to take over the kingdom. To save his life, David and the multitude of men with him fled to the wilderness. How would they feed in the wilderness? Barzillai wanted the ministry God had given to David to prosper unfailingly and supplied abundantly the resources they needed in the wilderness. He was immediately rewarded on earth when David was restored back to the kingdom, and that of heaven awaited him surely, in 2 Samuel 19: 31-38

The widow of Zaraphat. God knew the poverty of this widow, but sent Elijah to her to sustain him. He knew that the woman and her son were preparing to die for lack of food and desired to prevent that death. The way to Divine intervention in her life was through costly giving to sustain the Man of God in 1 King 17:8-16.

The Shunamite woman. This woman was godly and prosperous, kind-hearted and generous. She mobilized her husband that they might invest into his life and ministry of Elisha by feeding and providing accommodation to him in 2 Kings 4:8-16

The woman that anointed Jesus; this woman walked to meet Jesus where He sat at meal among others in love, humility, and determination for service and poured costly oil upon His head for His burial in Matthew 26: 6-13

Tabitha/Dorcas- A disciple of Christ, kind-hearted and generous. She became sick and died, but those that enjoyed her charity teamed up against the spirit of death. The widows showed her gifts to Peter who prayed and God restored her back to life. Acts 9:36-41

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
