TOPIC: PATIENCE IS A PRODUCT OF LOVE August and Monday 17th
TEXT: 1 John 4:9-12
KEY VERSE: Colossians 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.
Have you judged yourself in that matter? Are you sure it is not your fault? Are you sure you are not equally guilty? You that say, thou shall not commit adultery; do you commit adultery? You that handed your wife to your friend to take care of her in your absence, if eventually he ends up sleeping with her is it not your fault? Will you be justified to accuse your wife of infidelity? You woman that has been denying your husband sex because you want to get even with him after a quarrel, if the man is pushed to commit adultery with your neighbour, will you be blameless before God? Why are you creating situations that cause offences? If your heart is crowded with offences and your laughter becomes pretentious, you are not of God. To live a better Christian life, you must keep your heart with all diligence because out of it are the issues of life.
In your sin God loved you and still made a way for your salvation. He was the first to love you. If that be so, you ought also to love others. If God didn't boast before you, don't boast over another. As God was patient with you, you too be patient with others. As God was kind to help you, learn to be kind to your brother and sister. As God did not take you foolish don't take another to be a fool. He went after you patiently until you were redeemed. If you were that precious to God in spite of your error why not see others that way? Why not endure everything about his or her error and evil behaviour as God did for you? Why not believe in your brother or sister that he or she will come up better tomorrow? Why not have hope over your wife, over your husband, over your children even though they may be wayward today. Don’t be quick to write people off. The prodigal son will come to his senses and come back home. He will come back home and become somebody great.
Thought for the day: Be patient with people in the spirit of love.
Song for the day: Bind us together Lord….bind us together with love that…..
