TOPIC: TESTIMONY OF ESCAPE FROM DEPORTATION AND DIVINE HEALING – Part 1 August Saturday 29th
TEXT: 1 John 1:8-10
KEY VERSE: Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
I am Sis. Miriam based in Sweden, Scandinavia. My coming to Sweden was by fraudulent act. I did fake marriage with my elder brother and somebody leaked the secret to the immigration office in Sweden, so I was charged to court. During that time, I received threats from people, including my elder brother who threatened to make me run mad if I mentioned his name.
I sought the counsel of Pastor Bright (HOREMOW Europe Coordinator), Mummy Linda and Mummy Heather who all interceded for me. Pastor Bright encouraged me to have trust in God and say the whole truth to the authority. I had two adjournments in court. By the third hearing date, the interpreter wasn’t interpreting the whole truth to the judge, which got the judge angry. I was asked difficult questions which I couldn’t answer. The judge even got upset with my lawyer. Then the court went on break.
When the court resumed from break, the judge was in a shocked mood. He was explaining to my interpreter that everything he wrote about my case from Day-one had been wiped out from his computer and this was inexplicable and unprecedented. All the other computers were functioning, but only the one in which he wrote my case had a problem. The judge later told me that my case was too hard for him and he may not continue.
It took many months before I was called again. This time I met another judge. Prayer was still going on in HOREMOW. My mother, being a Muslim, was so worried and she pleaded that I gave in to my brother’s request to lie so as to be set free. I told her firmly that I had converted to Christianity and I couldn’t tell lies. Even my family in Europe threatened to deal with me if I confessed in court. My lawyer also counseled that I should lie to the court.
All these did not move me even though at that time, many people were being deported for similar offences. The second judge also gave up on my case and even the third one. I was ready to be deported; so I sent some of my things home to Africa. It was better for me to be deported from Europe than miss heaven.
