TOPIC: GOD HAS A PROGRAMME FOR EVERYBODY           August Saturday 15th

TEXT: Job 23:10-14

KEY VERSE: Job 23:14 For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him. 


How would a child react when he sees his pregnant mother crying because she is about to give birth? Naturally, he would want to go and stop his mother from crying. He would say, “Mummy, do not cry.” But child, that cry is part of giving life to a human being. That pain is built into her, and it comes naturally with child birth. Where do you give birth without pain? It is a pronouncement of God on women. So allow her. It is her time to cry. That crying and groaning is giving her the energy to push out the child. Stopping her groaning and labour may frustrate natural delivery until she has to be taken for caesarian operation. Let her cry, for that is the normal thing to do. Learn it as you deal with your brethren, friends and family members. Learn it because God has His programme for everybody. Do not block the way of God by your human sympathy or judgment. 


In today’s reading text, Job shows high spiritual understanding in the face of great tribulations. Here is a man that suffered greatly; he lost all his children; his wealth perished and he suffered a disease like skin cancer. Yet, he said, “He who made me has a programme for my life. He is guiding me through this programme that He has appointed for me. The things He does we don’t understand for He has His own mind, and who can interfere with His mind? Who can interfere with what He allows in our lives? But one sure thing I know is that He knows the way that I take. When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” (Paraphrased). 


Now, would you want to intervene in the process? Would you want to block the way of your brother’s life because you say you love him? You are always blocking the ways of God in your sister’s life because you say you love her? Do you want to prove to be more loving than God? If the Lord leaves that man’s life in your hands, can you manage it? Can you lead that man for 24 hours and pass him through the journey of life? Can you determine the events of the future and set his life in order? Can you do that? Is it not in the hands of God? Therefore, be careful!
