TOPIC: YOU NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR SPIRITUAL EXPLOITS
TEXT: Ephesians 1:12-14
KEY VERSE: Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. When you talk about Holy Ghost baptism, the first thing that comes to mind is the power of God. It is through the Holy Spirit the power of the Godhead is packaged and deposited in a believer for effective service in ministry. It is essential that the believer recognizes the importance of the Holy Spirit in God’s purpose for those who are born again; to deliver them from the power of sin and grant them victory over the powers of darkness, to renew and strengthen them spiritually and build them up in their personal relationship with Him. The Holy Spirit is indispensable in the life of the believer from his salvation experience, to his sanctification process, to understanding the scripture and preservation in holiness for rapture. He is the empowerment of a believer for a victorious Christian life and ministry.
Many misunderstand the personality of the Holy Spirit. Even among Christian assemblies, some view Him as a force or concept or a remote influence that represents God. But the Bible makes us to understand that the Holy Spirit a distinct Personality of the Godhead. He is God Himself and third Person of the holy Trinity comprising of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He has the same sets of attributes and characteristics as the Father and the Son. The three Persons of the Godhead are co-existent, co-eternal and co-equal. He is not a wind or breeze as some people think and He has no form or shape because He is an invisible Spirit.
As member of the Godhead, He was involved in creation at the beginning of age and actively involved in the spiritual regeneration of the believer at conversion. He is the One that came upon the disciples of Christ at Pentecost to establish the Church and who has remained with the Church to strengthen her, and will rapture her when Jesus returns the second time. Because He is God, the Holy Spirit is omnipresent (everywhere at the same time), omniscient (all knowing) and omnipotent (all powerful). He is also loving, forgiving and merciful. Whenever you sense things about God in your heart or conscience, maybe to pray, to read your Bible, to evangelize or to do good to others, it is the Holy Spirit at work. Develop a personal relationship with Him for your personal spiritual growth and development.
Thought for the day: Make the Holy Spirit your personal friend.
Song for the day: Holy Ghost power, power fall on me……
Bible reading for the day: Exodus 11-12; Matthew 18:21-35
