January Sunday 5th
TOPIC: SAINT, BEWARE OF SATAN!
TEXT: Ephesians 6:10-18
KEY VERSE: 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your
adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may
devour
There is somebody that is threatening
to your Christian life and that is Satan. If you become overconfident and
ignore the activities of Satan in your life, it will be to the hurt of your
soul. Satan is a restless person roaming about like a roaring lion, looking for
whom to devour. Will you pretend he is not there and fall victim of his subtle
devices? Bible says in Proverbs 1:32, “For the turning away of the
simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.”
Why should you be ignorant of his devices? Why put all you have laboured for
over the years in your Christian life at jeopardy? Bible says in 1Corinthians
10:12 “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he
fall.” Who will make you fall if not Satan. Therefore, “Be
sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion,
walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
I also want you to know something
about Satan. Unlike most of us, he is not a person that gives up easily. When
it comes to following through on his evil agenda, he is resilient and never
discouraged. No matter how many times he suffers defeat, he will come back
again. After tempting Jesus, he only departed “for a season.” Why does he do
so? He does so because he knows that there is always the possibility of falling
as long as a man is still living. He has caused the fall of many valiant
Christian soldiers in the past and he believes he can do it again. Many have
died in his hands and are forever damned to hell. Satan! Satan!! Satan!!! Very terrible
and vicious enemy!
Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for
thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy
brethren. In
spite of this warning, did Peter escape from the hands of Satan? No! When it
mattered most, three times he denied his Lord and Saviour. Brother, Sister, you
must know how to handle the things of Satan so that you don’t fall in his hands.
You must understand his manners, his strategies, how he does things and how he
stopped many believers in the past. May
the Lord preserve you to the end. Amen.
Thought for the day: Beware of the subtle devices of Satan so that you don’t become his victim.
Song for the day: I am married to Jesus, Satan
leave me alone
