TOPIC: THERE IS STRENGTH IN UNITY AND GREAT PROFITING IN GIVING
TEXT: 2 Corinthians 9:6-11
KEY VERSE: Genesis 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Let me share a story I read somewhere to emphasize the fact that unity is indispensable in building and sustaining relationships. The story goes like:

“A few years ago, I was walking with a friend in the Muir Woods which is just close to San Francisco in the United States of America. It is a redwood forest. We came upon the tourist guard and he was explaining to some tourists the secret of the forest. He told them that the sequoia and redwood trees are the largest tress on the planet. Some of them are hundreds or even thousands of years old. But interestingly, their roots do not grow deep. And then he said these trees have been standing for centuries upon centuries, enduring massive windstorms, devastating earthquakes and other threatening weather conditions even though they had no deep roots. Then the question arose, “How do they keep standing without deep roots?” The guard paused so that we could ponder this mystery. After a while, he decided to reveal to us, the underground secret of the redwood forest.

He said that the roots under the ground reach outward seeking the roots of other redwood trees and when they meet, they interlock to make a permanent bond with each other. In this way, all the redwood trees in the entire forest are either directly or indirectly giving support to each other. Unity is their strength! They reach out to care for each other. Even little new born baby redwoods with their little tiny roots, are given shelter by the ancient giants. In the Muir Woods, nature is giving humanity a very crucial lesson that our real strength is in our willingness to care for and support each other. We are caretakers of divine property. Wisdom is to understand this simple universal principle that IN GIVING, WE RECEIVE. By getting things, we make a living. By giving things, we make a life. The spiritual evolution of a society can be understood when people love people and use things. But all too often in today’s world, it’s just the opposite. People use people, and they love things.”

Thought for the day: In giving, we receive.
Song for the day: Give it shall be given unto you … good measure shaking together
Bible reading for the day: Genesis 29-30; Matthew 10:1-23

Signs And Wonders Should Be According To Biblical Pattern

God's blessings shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Signs And Wonders Should Be According To Biblical Pattern Text: Mark 16: 17 – 20 Wednesday May 8th Key verse: Obadiah 17 “Upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” God has prepared to direct us on holy service unto Himself. He tells us when the lives and services of people are corrupt because from the heart of men proceed the works they do. When people are righteous and holy, their service is also righteous and holy. Hence, the word says, make the people holy then their service will be holy, so if you accept to live a life of holiness, then the fruit of your service will be holy. So, it is very important to accept the life of holiness because the God that made you is holy; He will give you grace to be holy. You just make up your mind to be holy. Do not accept that no man can be holy; then Jesus came for nothing, Jes...

God’s Extra Effort In Restoring The Backslider

God's blessings shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. God’s Extra Effort In Restoring The Backslider  Sunday May 12th Text: Jeremiah 3: 15 – 17 Key verse: Ezekiel 33: 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel.  Receive the word that will change you, restore you, reestablish you and give you back the hope of eternal life. Come back! The Lord is pleading. Can you see the effort of God in your life? And can you see madness in your life; resisting every effort God is making. God is calling you. Retrace your ways. Follow the good old way. Go and confess those things, do not keep them. Your problem is, you want to serve God but you have not confessed your sins openly because of shame, fear and  pride which shall be dissolved in hell. That is where your problem is. Yes, you wa...
