FOCUS ON JESUS, NOT MIRACLE SUBSTANCES

For taking your time to study remain blessed.

TOPIC: FOCUS ON JESUS, NOT MIRACLE SUBSTANCES September Tuesday 15th

TEXT: Isaiah 30:1-3

KEY VERSE: Isaiah 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

The physical can destroy the spiritual if we become careless. The hunger for miracle has made many people to seek after physical objects of miracle to the destruction of their soul.  Consider aprons and handkerchiefs taken from Paul’s body for miracle, which are now being replicated in many churches. Were these objects also taken from Peter’s body or John’s? It was only Paul in Christian history, not even from Jesus during His earthly ministry. Only in Paul did the Holy Ghost manifest that power for a definite purpose of His, to cause the people to believe in Christ. Handkerchiefs and aprons were taken from the body of Paul to the sick and they were healed. This happened for a season and ended. It could be just one day or one week or it heightened and then ceased. It did not continue in his ministry. Timothy worked closely with Paul as a disciple, but was he healing with handkerchiefs, or was he distributing aprons?  No, because he would not assume such a unique miracle to be an everyday occurrence.

If this be so, how did it happen that the churches today and the presiding ministers are flaunting handkerchiefs and aprons and telling their members that they will do miracles? From where did they get that teaching? From one witness, thou shall not establish a matter but from the mouth of two or three. Apart from Paul, who else used handkerchiefs and aprons that you are now using it as a standard in the church? Why don’t they also gather their members at the sea and say they are going to cause God to divide it so that people can cross on dry ground? If it is a normal thing, why don’t they try to also do that? Of course they won’t do that because their deceit will be found out too quickly. The spirit that motivates this kind of thing is of the devil. It is not the Spirit of Christ because that is an abnormality. He that enters not through the door but climbs in through the window, the same is a thief and a robber. The sheep will never hear him. He is a hireling and that is the devil. Those promoting and distributing handkerchiefs and aprons are not doing it by the Spirit of the great God of heaven because they don’t have the Bible as their authority.

Thought for the day: The name of Jesus is enough for you.

Song for the day: There is power mighty in the blood……

Bible reading for the day: Proverbs 28-29; 2 Corinthians 7

For taking your time to study remain blessed. August Tuesday 27th TOPIC: CORRECT WATER BAPTISM TEXT: Mark 16:15-16 KEY VERSE: Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. The believer requires water baptism. The baptism that Jesus commanded is in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is done by immersion in water because the three Persons are One. In Acts of the Apostles, the people were baptizing in the name of Jesus. They used the phrase “in the name of Jesus” to indicate that the baptism was carried out as authorized by Jesus, and the baptism authorized by Jesus is that which is done in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is not to say that they dip people in water and say, “I baptize you in the name of Jesus.” The name of Jesus cannot represent the Godhead. The Father is not Jesus, the Holy Spirit is not Jesus, Jesus is God who be
