PRINCIPLES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IN THE MORAL LAWS (1)

God's blessings shall follow you, for taking the time to study

TOPIC: PRINCIPLES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IN THE MORAL LAWS (1)

TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 22:1-5

SUNDAY OCTOBER 1ST

Key verse: Deuteronomy 22:1 “Thou shalt not see the brother's ox or his sheep go astray and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother.”
Question: Why does the Old Testament emphasize women not wearing trousers?
Answer: In the righteousness of faith, Christ is the end of the law and the commandments to those who believe. The righteousness of the law says every Israelite must obey these things if you must live, but the present righteousness is right in our hearts, the just shall live by faith in God. The present righteousness is not by keeping the law of Moses but by observing the principles of righteousness and as a result some details of the law that applied to Israel have been abolished. But the principles of righteousness that lived in the law continue because the law is written in our conscience. It is now in our hearts. Now we still must obey it in Christ because it will affect our morality.
From our key verse, the bible says that he knows what to do and he does not do it, unto him it is sin. Again, the Lord summarized the scripture by saying that all that is required is love. If you know that this is your brother’s son, a babe, just a child of one and a half years that has left the house and is now found in the street. You know this person has missed the mother, this child has missed the father or whoever brought the child out and you leave the child there in the evening and darkness is coming. Will you say you are righteous? You are not righteous.
The principle of this still holds in Christ, you are not righteous. If you did that, you have afflicted your neighbor. You do not love your neighbor as yourself. What if it has been your child? So, principle remains; is that ok? Which then makes it the moral law of love towards your neighbor. The emphasis is on your neighbor, the moral law continues.

Thought for the day: Moral laws are not abolished but remain functional in Christ

Song for the day: Forever O Lord, Thy word is settled

Bible reading for the day: Isaiah 22-23; Ephesians 3

August Tuesday 27th TOPIC: CORRECT WATER BAPTISM TEXT: Mark 16:15-16 KEY VERSE: Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. The believer requires water baptism. The baptism that Jesus commanded is in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is done by immersion in water because the three Persons are One. In Acts of the Apostles, the people were baptizing in the name of Jesus. They used the phrase “in the name of Jesus” to indicate that the baptism was carried out as authorized by Jesus, and the baptism authorized by Jesus is that which is done in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is not to say that they dip people in water and say, “I baptize you in the name of Jesus.” The name of Jesus cannot represent the Godhead. The Father is not Jesus, the Holy Spirit is not Jesus, Jesus is God who be
