TOPIC: GUARD YOUR THOUGHT FROM EVIL
TEXT: Ephesians 4:22-24
KEY VERSE: Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Genesis 3:3-4 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die. Adam was morally perfect but he still had his own thoughts to think. Eve was morally perfect but she still had her own thoughts to think, and they both thought it wrongly. They needed more glory, more honor and more power. That was a wrong thought and it gave Satan a vital opening to prevail over them. “You will be like God,” and that was where they missed it. So people who fell, either in personal life or ministry, fell as a result of the seed of deceit that Satan planted in their mind. We have people who have been leaders since the beginning of this ministry and they are still here. But what about those that have left? Something went wrong with them. They failed. What went wrong? Satan! Because they didn’t order their lives well Satan took advantage of them.
That is why the Bible says you should not give the devil a place, lest Satan takes advantage of you. Don’t give him a place; let him not take advantage of you; don’t miss your way. The word of God, prayer and wisdom will take you to heaven. If I see you in heaven, I will know that you used these three things well. Praise the Lord! If you too see me in heaven, you will know that I have used these three things well. The Christian life is comparable to the physical life of a living thing, like a man on earth. The principles are similar. Life must first be formed then it grows by nourishment and is established by protective care. The basic principles of growth in the physical life is eating and drinking liquid for preservation, then protective care. Therefore, food, water and wisdom are essential to grow and establish in the physical life. Similarly, the word of God, prayer and wisdom are essential for a successful Christian life, and when a Christian life is successful the Christian ministry will be successful; for like begat like.
Thought for the day: Guard your heart diligently for out of it are the issues of life.
