TOPIC: RECORD KEEPING AND HOLINESS MINISTRY
JULY SATURDAY 7th

Text: Matthew 1:1-17

Key Verse: And the Lord said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. Exodus 17: 14

The Holy Scripture is a book of record that shows the mind and work of God among men. It gives a glimpse of the work of God in heaven and the whole universe. In the Holy Bible you will find statistics of number of people, family members, genealogy, first born, meetings and so on. For instance, it tells us five thousand people ate the five loaves apart from women and children, five hundred people saw Jesus ascend into heaven, two people were on the way to Emmaus when resurrected Jesus met them, one hundred and twenty people were in the upper room on the Day of Pentecost.  Also, you will find out in the scriptures that records of finances were diligently kept and strictly supervised for holiness and righteousness sake.
In following this pattern, there should be books of records in the church to record events such as miracles, properties acquired, crusades held, people that left and why they left etc. Such record is valuable for posterity and future reference. Even God keeps record of his words and works in the bible. Isaiah 34:16 says, “Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

Record keeping helps you keep track of God's grace in your ministry, the mileage you have covered and how to do more. God Himself is keeping record of the lives of individuals against the day of judgment (Revelation 20:11-15). If you understand that you have to give account of all your activities to God, whether in your private life or ministry or public service, then you need to keep good record in order that you may not be found wanton. Record keeping pleases the heart of God because it is a sign of transparency, accountability and integrity. It is a proof that you are a faithful servant who diligently does his work and keeps record in order that when your Master comes you will be able to give him good account of your service.

Thought for the day: Be diligent in record keeping because it pleases God.
Song for the day: Christian, walk carefully
Bible reading for the day: Job 35-37; Acts 14

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
