TOPIC: HOW TO MANAGE PROSPERITY AND MAKE IT A BLESSING
JULY WEDNESDAY 4th

TEXT: 1 Timothy 6:17-19
KEY VERSE: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1: 2
Prosperity in the hands of a believer is a blessing if properly managed. It is the desire of God that we prosper in all areas of life and he has made provisions for that. 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. Prosperity responds to the principles of divine blessing if we are properly guided. Here are some biblical principles that will guide us.
1. We must acknowledge that God is the Creator of all that we have. Whether we are rich or poor, we must acknowledge God’s provision in our lives. We are stewards of His creation. The whole earth and everything in it is the Lord’s, we are only caretakers of His treasure (Ps. 24:1).
2. We must “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness” (Matt. 6:33). We must acknowledge God’s sovereignty and avoid the dangers of wealth. Greed is not an exclusive attribute of the rich, nor covetousness the exclusive attribute of the poor. Christians must guard against the negative effect of wealth on their spiritual lives. There is nothing wrong with owning possessions but problems come when our life ruled by possession. Righteousness and Holiness are the essential tools required to handle prosperity.
3. Christians should enjoy their prosperity in simplicity. A simple lifestyle can free us from the dangers of being controlled by material possessions and promote a deeper spiritual life. While simplicity is not an end in itself, it can be a means to a spiritual life of service to God and man. Wealth must not be used for a flamboyant lifestyle or to oppress the poor. Simple and humble use of wealth will bring glory to God. It involves:
• Avoiding wastage and gluttony.
• Devote more time to prayer and meditation on God’s word rather than merriment and frolicking.
• Dress modestly and sensibly. Be dead to worldliness and fashion trends.
• Be generous in giving. If God has prospered you with money or great abilities, prosper others also to the glory of God.
• Pay your dues - tithes, offerings, arms to widows, orphans and the poor. God will proper you beyond measure. Luke 6:38.
Thought for the day:  Beloved, Go and prosper, make progress in your Christian life and ministry, but do not turn your wealth into an idol.
Song for the day:   I can see everything turning around
Bible reading for the day:
Job 29-30. Acts 12

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
