TOPIC: DO NOT JOIN THEM
JULY Thursday 5

TEXT: 1 John 2:15-17
KEY VERSE: But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. Galatians 6: 14

As a child of God, you are in the created natural habitat of God called the world but not part of the world of evil and sin. You were there before but you have been brought out through the grace and power of God. Because you live among people in the world system, you will still be witnessing their evil lifestyle but you must not be influenced by it or follow their way of life. In this world system, they dress to provoke God to anger and call it fashion. But God has a verdict for them in Zephaniah 1:8 “And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD'S sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.” They will look down on you and pass derogatory comments about your godly dressing, but why should you care? After all, you are to live to please God who gave you eternal life not man or Satan who has nothing to offer you other than pain, misery and death. The world will organize and do whatever they want. Don’t join them. They will engage in all kinds of traditional festivals to appease the gods of the land, don’t join them or lend support to them. They will consume all kinds of drinks from red alcoholic wine to local palm wine. Don’t join them. The world boasts after titles, position, achievements, certificates. Don’t join them. You boast in the Lord. If you start loving the pattern of the world, you have gone back to the school of Satan.

From today’s reading text, we see that all these worldly things are for a time. They will soon pass away. Be crucified to the world (Galatians 6:14). Crucifixion is a slow painful death which reverberates through all members of the body. It may be painful to separate yourself from worldly friends and relatives, worldly tastes, worldly fashion and worldly values, but it is a choice you must make for the sake of your soul. You must be ready to lose some old friends because keeping them will be a bad influence on your new way of life.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
