TOPIC: YOU WILL BE HATED FOR YOUR NEW WAY OF LIFE
JULY SUNDAY 15th

TEXT: John 15:18-21
KEY VERSE: For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8: 18

Dissociating yourself from people of the world will make them hate you for a number of reasons. They will hate you because your life will constantly challenge their pleasure and indulgences. Being in darkness they will be threatened by your light. You will become a threat to them because you will not cooperate with them in their evil schemes. They will envy your righteousness because you are living a clean and exemplary life that is unattainable by them. Do not bother when you are persecuted for your righteousness. Matthew 5:10-12 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

The pleasures of the world system of Satan is incomparable to what God has promised those who love Him and preserve themselves in purity. 1 Corinthians 2:9, 10, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” Whatever suffering you are passing through today for the sake of your faith in Christ Jesus is incomparable to the surpassing future glory that is awaiting you in heaven. God knows how to satisfy and compensate you for every tear that drops from your eyes and for remaining faithful to Him in the face of persecution and life’s adversities.

KEY VERSE: It came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said, Lord, teach us how to pray as John taught his disciples. Luke 11: 1. When Jesus Christ came to us in the flesh, He went into the business of prayer because He was promoting the attribute of God as a prayer-answering God. He would not render that attribute idle or redundant. Nobody knew how John did it, but Jesus reveals here that the success you saw in the ministry of John the Baptist, the victory you saw in his ministry, is because he was a prayer man. John so much valued prayer. He saw the essentials of pr...
