TOPIC: THE TESTIMONIES OF PETER ISAAC (5): MAN PROPOSES BUT GOD DISPOSES
TEXT: PSALM 107:1-9
1. O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good: For His mercy endureth for ever.
2. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
3. And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, From the north, and from the south.
4. They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; They found no city to dwell in.
5. Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them.
6. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, And He delivered them out of their distresses.
7. And He led them forth by the right way, That they might go to a city of habitation.
8. Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
9. For He satisfieth the longing soul, And filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
KEY VERSE: PROVERBS 5:21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord and He pondereth all His goings.
My father knelt down, praising God in tears for sparing my life. At that time, I could not respond because it was as if I left this world for some time. It was my father that narrated the events that happened to us. Our driver was trying to overtake another vehicle in a bend when suddenly a trailer loaded with cement emerged at top speed which led to a terrible collision.
Our bus summersaulted several times before it was wedged by a heap of sand. Then it burst into flames. Eleven passengers were burnt to ashes, especially those from front seat towards the middle.
God used the driver of another bus to rescue us. After our bus caught fire, others cars would slow down and move on when they saw the intensity of the fire but this driver slowed down when he saw that the fire had not reached the back of the bus where we were.
He continued going but a voice told him to go back and rescue those people so he stopped, reversed back, off loaded his passengers and they came and rescued us from the fire. The lady in my front was burnt halfway but was still alive in coma. I don’t know if she survived in the hospital or later died. Only those of us at the back seat survived.
When I was discharged from the hospital, my mother showed me the burnt vehicle at the accident site. I was very weak. The intense heat had peeled much of my skin. They began to carry me up and down for treatment to see if I could regain the use of my legs.
My own plan of travelling out of the country in March 2020 and the devil’s plan of killing me before that date all changed to God’s divine plan to save my soul and use me in His vineyard. I was taken to Benin and several efforts were made both by conventional and herbal doctors as well as bonesetters to try to fix my bone all to no avail.
Unknown to them, my bone was not broken but was pulled out of joint. This was confirmed later when I did an Xray to ascertain the actual situation. It was discovered that the bone would require a strong force to normalize it.
Thought for the day: “There are many devices in a man’s heart, nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.” Proverbs 19:21
Song for the day: The Lord knows the way through the wilderness, all I have to do…
Bible reading for the day: Jeremiah 15-17
