Topic: DAMNABLE CLOTHING AND ADORNMENT

December Wednesday 9th

Text: 1 Peter 3:3-5

Key verse: Matthew 5:28: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Ignorance of doctrinal truth is the main reason why many in the church today claim they are at liberty to dress as they please. Ladies dress in provocative ways that seduce men to lust and sin. Women adorn themselves with make-up, jewellery, ornaments, attachments, wigs and different kinds of artificial things to attract others to themselves, rather than to Jesus Christ our Lord. They wear short skirts, short gowns, trousers, pants and decorate their eyes and hair with all kinds of artificial materials, which have a seductive influence on men. The men are not left behind in this matter. Today we see young men, even the elderly ones wearing earrings, necklaces, chains, rings etc. We also have the married ones wearing wedding rings. The use of engagement and wedding rings is an unscriptural human tradition which defiles the believer before God. These are all against the scriptures and are damnable. They tattoo themselves, maintain ungodly hair-cut, expose their underwears and come to church without the slightest reproof from their parents and pastors.

Cleanse yourself from jewellery and ungodly adornment which includes the following:

Artificial smells and perfumes on the body.

Use of artificial hair, attachment and weave-on.

Perming of the hair.

Dyeing and colouring of hair.

Use of wool and shining fashion thread.

Use of Cortex and lipsticks.

Body bleaching and painting.

Women using restrictively masculine wears.

Men using restrictively feminine wears.

Use of earrings, chains, necklace, beads, bracelets, pearls.

Thought for the day: Cleanse yourself from jewelries and ungodly adornment

Song for the day: Holiness unto the Lord is our watchword and song

Bible reading for the day: Hosea 1-4; Jude

August Tuesday 27th TOPIC: CORRECT WATER BAPTISM TEXT: Mark 16:15-16 KEY VERSE: Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. The believer requires water baptism. The baptism that Jesus commanded is in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is done by immersion in water because the three Persons are One. In Acts of the Apostles, the people were baptizing in the name of Jesus. They used the phrase “in the name of Jesus” to indicate that the baptism was carried out as authorized by Jesus, and the baptism authorized by Jesus is that which is done in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is not to say that they dip people in water and say, “I baptize you in the name of Jesus.” The name of Jesus cannot represent the Godhead. The Father is not Jesus, the Holy Spirit is not Jesus, Jesus is God who be
