TOPIC: BENEFITS OF COOPERATION AND COLLABORATION IN MARRIAGE
TEXT: 1 Corinthians 12:18-21
KEY VERSE: Genesis 11:6  And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Collaborating or cooperating together to achieve greater result is called synergy in the business world. Synergy is the concept that the combined value and performance of two will be greater than the sum of the separate individual parts. It recognizes higher benefit of cooperative and collaborative efforts. We can say synergy is when one plus one is greater than two. This truth is clearly expressed in scripture: Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. It is further explained in Leviticus 26:8 which says, “And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.” From this scripture, we could see that if five could chase a hundred, we would expect a hundred to chase not more than two thousand. But because of the effect of synergy, a hundred is able to chase up to a ten thousand. When we bring resources together we achieve more for the family. We are able to work as a team and work as a family for unlimited progress because there is strength in unity.

Even God acknowledges that when a people are united, nothing shall be impossible for them to do (Genesis 11:6). Contrarily, a house divided against itself cannot stand. When spouses keep malice or set up their children against each other, ability to harness corporate blessing suffers a serious setback. Train your children with one voice, not with conflicting instructions. Resolve personal differences quickly and keep no malice. This reminds me of a husband that had a job interview and needed to wake up by 6am the next morning to prepare for the interview. Since he was keeping malice with the wife he simply wrote on a sheet of paper, “Wake me up by 6am” and placed the paper on her side of the bed. He didn’t wake up until 8am when it was already late to go for the interview. He got angry with the wife but the wife, in defence, pointed to a paper near his own side of the bed where she wrote, “Wake up. It’s 6am.” Division is the most potent weapon of the enemy. Family disunity hinders family prosperity. Once your language is confounded, there can be no progress in the family (Genesis 11:7). Give no space to the devil in your marriage in order to enjoy the full blessings of God.

Thought for the day:  Collaborate as a family to achieve great exploits.
Song for the day:   Together we can move a mountain, together we can…..
Bible reading for the day:
Psalms 136-138; 1 Corinthians 9

August Tuesday 27th TOPIC: CORRECT WATER BAPTISM TEXT: Mark 16:15-16 KEY VERSE: Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. The believer requires water baptism. The baptism that Jesus commanded is in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is done by immersion in water because the three Persons are One. In Acts of the Apostles, the people were baptizing in the name of Jesus. They used the phrase “in the name of Jesus” to indicate that the baptism was carried out as authorized by Jesus, and the baptism authorized by Jesus is that which is done in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is not to say that they dip people in water and say, “I baptize you in the name of Jesus.” The name of Jesus cannot represent the Godhead. The Father is not Jesus, the Holy Spirit is not Jesus, Jesus is God who be
