TOPIC: DON’T BRING POLITICS INTO THE HOUSE OF GOD  July Thursday 2nd
TEXT: Numbers 16:16-19
KEY VERSE: Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Korah went deep into politics and succeeded in polluting the whole congregation to rebel against Moses. The ambition of one man led multitudes astray. Why would you allow yourself to be polluted? Why would you allow the tongue of one man to remove your name from the book of life? Why should you lose your place? Would you allow a church politician to remove you from where God has placed you? A politician in the church with the tongue of the devil came to you and carried you away from the presence of God. You just followed sheepishly and lost eternal life. Lay hands suddenly on no man and be not partaker of another man’s sin.
Some men have perished, some are crying in hell because they followed the cause of a church politician. Satan their father, was a politician in heaven. How he did the work we cannot tell. How all these people are also succeeding with you, we cannot tell. Are you not looking for heaven? Is it that all these messages you are hearing do not mean anything to you? Was it not you that said you could not find it elsewhere? Now, somebody just came and spoke careless words and you are believing him? Just like that? You are now saying, “Eh, let’s born the CDs; let’s set the books on fire!” What actually came over you? What is happening to your life? Why don’t you give attention to know this God deeply? Let the tree grow a deep root so that the storm will not pull it out of the ground.
In our devotional text for today, when Moses said “Let us appear before the Lord,” do you know that these people didn’t even fear God? They couldn’t because they were not seeing the Lord in the whole program. They were not seeing the glory of the Lord. It is because the anger of God had not been manifested among them. It is because the wrath of God had not been poured out upon them. Though favour be shown to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness even in the land of uprightness. But when there is judgment in the land, the people learn righteousness. What followed after was the judgment of God and it was terrible! This is the sure end of those who choose to play politics in the house of God. Don’t join them!
