TOPIC: RESTITUTION: GO IN THE NAME OF THE LORD AND IT SHALL BE WELL
TEXT: Leviticus 6:1-7
KEY VERSE: Leviticus 6:4 Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,
Restitution may be hard but it is not impossible. Don’t be afraid to do your restitution because of fear of the outcome. God that commands you to do your restitution knows how to handle the outcome. God holds the key of hell and death. Nothing can happen to you without his knowledge and permission. Put it to prayer and go in faith and power of His word. His word carries power of grace; it carries power of mercy; it carries power of truth and the power to make people surrender to God. When you stand before them to confess, things will work out for your good as you are going by the power of the word. Go and settle; the grace of God will see you through. This is how many people got their lives settled and are living well. They are living in peace and have become witnesses unto you that is still delaying your own restitution. When Abimelech took Sarah from Abraham as wife, even though he did it in his innocence, peace left his kingdom so much that all women in the land became barren. Peace only returned after he restored Sarah back to Abraham.
I remember the story of a woman that committed adultery and after coming to the knowledge of truth, she decided to do restitution to her husband. After confessing her sin and seeking the husband’s forgiveness, hell was let loose in the house. The husband sent her packing and she had to relocate to her parents’ house. Not long after, the husband started feeling her absence in the house especially in the area of cooking. Feeding became increasingly difficult for him. After giving the matter a deep thought, he concluded that the wife was more righteous than him because he too had been engaging in extramarital affairs and he never confessed it to his wife. So he decided to eat the humble pie and visit his in-law, where he offered apology and requested to have his wife back. The truth is that God is always on the side of the righteous. However, it needs to be stated that restitution should be handled prayerfully and under good counsel.
Thought for the day: Do your restitution quickly. Do not delay.
Song for the day: Open my eyes O Lord … I am ready to obey
Bible reading for the day:
Psalms 139-141; 1 Corinthians 10:1-13. #Horemow.
