RESTITUTION AND ITS IMPERATIVES
April Thursday 26th
Text: Leviticus 6:1-7
Key Verse: Act 19:19  Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

Restitution is the practical corrective work a man does on himself over the errors and evil before God and before man in His past life. This rectification or correction is required for his cleansing and righteousness before God. God requires correction in the past life where possible. God requireth that which is past (Ecclesiastes 3:15). This verse counters the wrong interpretation of 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Some uninformed people have used this particular scripture to argue that the doctrine of restitution after salvation experience is unnecessary. God's forgiveness in initial salvation is probationary because He believes you will cooperate in your cleansing.

In Luke 19:1-10, Zacchaeus desperately sought out Jesus until he had an encounter with Him that earned him an invitation to his house. The people who knew Zacchaeus’ past sinful life began to grumble wondering how Jesus in His holiness should associate with such a sinful man. Conscious of their grumbling, Zacchaeus did what was necessary to convince the crowd of his genuine conversion and readiness to right past wrongs through restitution.  Luke 19:8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. On this basis, Jesus told him, “This day is salvation come to this house.” Until you cleanse your past evil records, you are on probation with God.   Restitution is required in the following areas:

1. Wrong Marriage. Marrying a divorcee or another man or woman's legal spouse is adultery. You have to break the relationship.  Luke 16:18; Gen 20:1-18; Matthew 18:22-27.
2. Making Peace In Human Relationship. Wiles, disagreement, hatred, malice and broken relation require amendment for the sake of peace and holiness. Hebrews 12:14; Matthew 5:21-26. Matthew 18:15-35.
3. Spiritism. Confess strange powers, sorcery, witchcraft and get rid of all fetish things in your possession. Then, you will be fit to be used as vessel of honour. Deuteronomy 18:9-14; Acts 8:9-18; Acts 19:18-20.
4. Ungodly Dressing. Cleanse yourself of all forbidden dresses, makeups and hair attachments. Isaiah 3:16-24; Exodus 33:1-6; 1 Peter 3:3-5.

Thought for the day: Only those that purge themselves will God use as holy vessels not those who serve both Satan and God
Song for the day: Will you be ready when the Lord shall come?
Bible reading for the day:
2Samuel 15-16; Luke 20: 27-47

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
