Some Miracles Are The Prerogative Of God (Part 1)

Monda,y January 29th

Text: Exodus 8:16-19
Key verse: Exodus 8: 19 Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had said.
Some miracles are the prerogatives of God. They are the choice of God; man is not involved in them. A man should not desire to do them. They are the fingers of God. The magicians of Egypt said, “This is the finger of God.” We could do other ones but this one is God’s prerogative. We cannot come to that level. It is the work of God. Some signs and wonders which happened in scripture were the direct works of God, done without human interference. They are beyond man. No man may arise to perform or repeat them by his will neither is it required to exercise faith on them. They are the finger of God; you may not attempt to them. These include:
1. The plagues of Egypt were the works of God which one cannot compete with. The magicians of this world cannot do them. Even Satan cannot do them. These miracles show the divinity of God and His almighty power. The magicians of Egypt testified that the plagues came from God; that it was the finger of God.
2. Parting the Red Sea for Israel to cross was the prerogative of God. He did it to show that He is God. No man can think to divide a sea, a body of water or a river. No, it is not for man to attempt it. God chose to divide the Red Sea. Moses did not even pray for God to divide the Red Sea; that never registered in the mind of Moses. He never prayed for it; it just came from God. God instructed it. When these fake ministers brag and boast of great miracles, do not even think that they can even divide a stream. It is not possible. That is under the power of God. There are some things that lie in the hands of God absolutely. Man! Do not come up there. Do not even ask God to do it. There are other ways God performs miracles which he gave man promise to ask Him. Follow such ways and He will meet you there.

KEY VERSE: It came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said, Lord, teach us how to pray as John taught his disciples. Luke 11: 1. When Jesus Christ came to us in the flesh, He went into the business of prayer because He was promoting the attribute of God as a prayer-answering God. He would not render that attribute idle or redundant. Nobody knew how John did it, but Jesus reveals here that the success you saw in the ministry of John the Baptist, the victory you saw in his ministry, is because he was a prayer man. John so much valued prayer. He saw the essentials of pr...
