Knowledge And Practice Of The Scriptures Make The Minister

Text: 2 Timothy 3:15-17 

Sunday, January 7th

Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
A true ministry produces a true preacher by directing that preacher to the word of God. It is the word that raises true ministers. It is the word that raises true and holy converts. So, a true minister preaches the sound word of God and the fruit of it is sound Christians that are being produced. 
Knowledge and understanding are from the holy scriptures. Preach the scriptures because many preachers today only quote one verse from the bible, in fact, they do not open the bible. For some, the preacher will be quoting here and telling stories there and nothing happens in the life of those people. It is the knowledge and obedience of the scriptures that makes a man spiritual. It says of Timothy that from a child he was committed to the scripture and was made wise from the scriptures. The scripture makes you have faith in Christ. All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for teaching character and lifestyle. It is to be used to correct, rebuke, and reproof people when they go off from the path of righteousness. It is used to instruct people on the way they should live. 
By the scriptures, the man of God may be perfect truly furnished unto all good works but if the preacher does not use the scriptures, he will produce fruits after his kind. His people will love to laugh during services because he will be telling them stories. Some spend more time dancing. They have no scriptures to tell the people. They cannot move from scripture to scripture. They do not have it. They do not read it. During our conferences, our preachers testify of how God has helped them read the Bible with commentaries from the beginning of the year till date, how many messages they have listened to, the number of books read and even total hours of prayers, number of days in fasting and even number of souls won in evangelism.
