SCRIPTURAL WATER BAPTISM

God bless you for taking the time to study.

TOPIC: SCRIPTURAL WATER BAPTISM

TEXT: MARK 16: 15-18

WEDNESDAY MAY 24th

Key Verse: Matthew 28: 19, ‘Go ye therefore and teach all nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.’
The church, the leaders, and the new believer need to know very important facts concerning water baptism.
1. Water baptism is an emblem in the physical showing, (an outward act) that a person has now repented and has accepted a change of faith or belief. This was evident in the time of the Pharisees as a practice of Judaism.
2. John the Baptist, was asked by God, to baptize those who have repented to follow God (Baptism of John), yet the baptism of Jesus had not yet come.
3. Jesus also baptized those who believed in Him.
4. Paul had a similar activity according to 1 Corinthians 1:14.
5. Water baptism is not salvation. Water Baptism does not make anyone born again. It is a sign/emblem that they had become born again.
6. Water stands for the word of God according to Ezekiel 36: 25; Psalms 119: 9; John 15: 3; 1 Peter 1: 23; John 3:5.
7. Water baptism follows faith and repentance in Christ, so infants who do not understand should not be baptized.
8. Water baptism must be carried out without delay.
9. Water baptism is by one immersion into the water once; not three times. (John 3: 22-23; Luke 3:3; Matthew 3: 14-16).
10.  Water baptism is in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost… Jesus said it after his death; His words are yea and amen.
What does it mean to baptize in the name of Jesus? Acts 8: 14-17, Matt. 21: 23, By what authority doest thou these things? The apostles were baptizing in the authority of Jesus, not in a mode or formula. The formula is ‘in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.’ Because the Trinity played roles in the baptism: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Thought for the day: Are you baptized scripturally?

Song for the day: Born, born, born again; thank God I am born again

Bible reading for the day: 1 Chronicles 11-13; John 9:1-23

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
