TOPIC: RUN FROM SIN TO PRESERVE YOUR SOUL
November Saturday 14th
Text: Genesis 4:6-13
Key verse: 1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Whosoever is committing sin has gone beyond the safe limit in life. He has crossed the line. He has left the road and entered into the bush. He has had an accident of life. Sin is an action taken by a man which is in direct disobedience to the word or commandment of God, whether this commandment is known to him or not. Since ignorance is not an excuse of the law, the sinner knowing or not knowing of a sin committed is responsible despite his ignorance. Again, sin is any act of wickedness done against a human being to his hurt. Any evil you did in words or action against a human being, even going to an evil thought, is sin. Some purposely go to do evil against fellow human beings. They kill, maim, cause pain and whatever. They want to hurt others for their pleasure. Or maybe they sent them to do it. Or they are taking sides with somebody to hurt his opponent. Whatever the reason, it is an act of wickedness. Perhaps you joined somebody to speak evil of another. It is an act of wickedness. There is always a curse attached to sin for whatever a man sows he shall reap.
God himself has said I will set my eyes upon you because of your sins. I will consume your eyes. I will plague you. I got you for Myself but you went back to iniquity. I suffered to bring you up but you abandoned Me on the way. I will deal with you in your shame. It is not an easy thing to backslide. Never! The confusion is great and the pain and the judgment very terrible. It is beyond human imagination. There will be everlasting burning in the lake of fire. Fearfulness has seized the hypocrites. Because of hell, fear has entered into great sinners. The wicked shall be turned into hell and all nations that forget God. Hell has enlarged itself waiting for sinners. When a sinner hears of the repercussion and penalty of sin, there is no more rest. Therefore, repent and seek God’s mercy while it can be found.
Thought for the day: Only sin can take you to hell. Run from sin!
