Topic: SEEK YOUR CHRISTIAN LEADER’S GUIDANCE AND COUNSEL November Thursday 5th
Text: Genesis 24:1-9
Key verse: Proverbs 11:14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Don’t allow fear to come into your heart. “I have seen a lady to marry. If I now go and tell my Pastor about it he will discourage me.” Thank God that Holiness Revival Movement is a non-denominational ministry. So, if you have seen a lady to marry in Church A or in Church B, our concern is whether or not she is born again. Is she a child of God? Is she having the properties of holiness in her life? Or if it is a man, is that man born again? He may be in that Church but different from the members of that Church because he has encountered the God of holiness. Don’t be afraid to share with the leadership in your chapter. Inform your Pastor before seeing the woman to discuss with her. There is a reason for this: You may influence a woman who is already engaged with your personality and property, with your riches and affluence, and she may be tempted to choose between two of you. That is why you need to go through your leaders. They will follow it up to know whether this person is engaged already or not. It is a sensitive matter that needs application of wisdom. Your leader will carry out the action required to verify and ensure that no one has come for her, and to prevent choosing by sight and not by the Spirit of God.
If she is in another Church, they will send to that Church and do all investigations necessary before you go to the next step through the Marriage Committee. Holiness Revival Movement has Marriage Committee in every state. So, reporting to the Marriage Committee is very important. Before you speak to the person, there will be medical tests to confirm that you are compatible and free from diseases like Ebola, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis etc. We don’t know whether God actually led you as you said or not. Here is an innocent person who has been keeping his or her life well and God has promised to use him. Do we allow someone else with a deadly disease to come and contaminate him or her and within three years the person is dead. But, what if you claim to have faith for healing? Let that faith heal you first, then you can marry freely. So, medical tests will be required.
Thought for the day: Be guided by the Marriage Committee in your marital plans
Song for the day: Trust and obey
Bible reading for the day:
Jeremiah 40-42; Hebrews 2
