THE WEIGHT OF SIN

For taking your time to study remain blessed.

TOPIC: THE WEIGHT OF SIN November Saturday 21st

Text: Psalm 51:1-12

Key verse: Isaiah 57:21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

Sin has weight and convicting power that does not give rest to the sinner day and night. Sin has weight as if you are carrying a heavy load. You sit with it, you stand up with it, you move about with it. Even when you lie down, the load is still heavy on you. That little sin you committed comes with a heavy weight you carry about and it will not give you rest or peace day and night. There is no peace for the wicked. The sinner is laughing with his mouth, but his heart is burning. There is fear. It is like a particle enters your eye. Whatever you are saying or doing, your mind is on that disturbing particle in your eye. Just as the sea brings out dirty things that are in it and they keep flowing to and fro, and the water is mixed up with dirt, so it is with the life of a sinner. He is carrying a heavy weight because of sin.

Some of these sins have been there for many years. Consider the case of the woman that provided food for Elijah during the period of draught. When she lost her son she lamented, “Man of God, have you come to call my sins to remembrance?” Apparently there must have been something dirty in the way the woman got that boy and the Lord wanted the confession of that sin. The presence of Elijah that should have brought health to that family led to the death of the boy. As human beings you could forget you have committed some sins in time past.

God gives this ability of forgetfulness so that we can be at peace once in a while, but it still comes to remembrance from time to time and any time it comes up you are restless. The weight of sin may even make you cry, “Why did I do it?” Suppose you killed somebody secretly and failed to confess it, any time you hear that somebody dies your mind will go to the person you have killed and you become restless. Confess your sin and put away that weight on you. That is why scripture says, “Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” (Heb. 12:1).

Thought for the day: For your peace, do not hide your sin. Confess it!

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

The Source Of Faith

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. The Source Of Faith  Tuesday 18th March Text: Romans 1:16-17 Key Verse: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 What is the foundation for our faith? The faith of the just man has the following sources, from where it gets its inspiration. The Word Of God: The foundation of the faith of the just, is the word of God.  The word of God is the production room of the faith which the just exercises. The faith of the just has its foundation in what God has said in His word.  Faith seeks for what God has said to stand upon.  Have you seen the promises of God for you, from the word? Have you seen God's message for you, in the scriptures?  Believe it absolutely, and it shall surely come to pass. This will enhance your faith for subsequent needs of your life. “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, ...
