The Peril of Ignorance

For taking your time to study remain blessed.

Topic: The Peril of Ignorance.  October Wednesday 21st

Text: Genesis 20:1-18

Key verse: Proverbs 19:2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

An ignorant man is like a man moving forward with his eyes closed. Do you know that being ignorant of the law does not exempt you from punishment when you break it? The saying, “Ignorance is no excuse of the law” is clearly seen in the story of king Abimelech, who despite his claim of innocence and pureness of heart, was still subject to the judgment of God. King Abimelech took Abraham's wife and when confronted by God, he pleaded innocence due to his ignorance of the truth of the matter. But God’s verdict was that he had committed sin by taking another man's wife and was guilty of death according to God's word. The king argued his case with God, thinking he would be justified. Many people also do so today thinking God will understand their situation. He told God that he acted in the integrity of his heart and in his innocence. His wrong action was due to misinformation and deceit of his informants, but that did not exonerate him from God's judgment— the king was doomed to die.

Sins committed unknowingly are the commandment of God broken in ignorance.

God saw the sincerity of Abimelech and decided to save him by demonstrating His mercies through some strange happenings, such as shutting up the womb of every woman in the king's household. He even prevented the king from touching Sarah. This could have manifested as some kind of ailment or disease. All these were done to get the king's attention, but he did not understand the message until God appeared to him in a dream. You might have been made to suffer some hardship as a way of calling your attention to the wrong you have done. God may be using one sign or the other to draw your attention to repentance so that through repentance you can be delivered from the hands of Satan. These signs are the works of His mercy in your life. Like Abimelech, correct your ways and return that which you stole or took illegally. Seek and make peace with those you have defrauded. God will bless you as you do this.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

The local church should teach and train her members on scriptural fasting. Believers need to know that the Lord expects...

The Testimony Of Jesus Is Spirit Of Prophecy.

God's blessings will continually accompany you for dedicating time to your studies. The Testimony Of Jesus Is Spirit Of Prophecy.  Monday 10th November  Text: Jude 1: 2-5 Key verse: Jude 1: 3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. The faith of Jesus has already been delivered and it is written in the scriptures. Whatever prophecies, revelations or dreams that comes must not be contrary to the standard in the scripture. They must speak the same thing. The testimony of Jesus is spirit of prophecy. Every prophecy or revelation must honour Jesus and must be according to the written word. Even where they are new things, they must not contradict because the Bible is a summary of the things Jesus did. The Bible cannot contain all things. It must be according to what the scripture has already signified, ...
