DON’T TAKE AN UNBELIEVER FOR A WIFE OR HUSBAND

For taking your time to study remain blessed.

Topic: DON’T  TAKE AN UNBELIEVER FOR A WIFE OR HUSBAND October Thursday 15th

Text: 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

Key verse: 2 Corinthians 6: 14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Today’s devotional reading is a clear warning the Lord is giving you as a believer. Don’t go and marry an unbeliever whatever the greatness or beauty or renown or quality that person may possess. Even if the person meets the quality you desire in your future partner or others recommended the person to you based on some qualities, you must not be swayed into marriage with him or her. You might have even dreamt about the person, yet you must not go that way.  As long as that person is a sinner/ unbeliever, there is clear warning to you .... DON’T GO INTO MARRIAGE WITH AN UNBELIEVER!

It makes no difference if the person was recommended by your mother or father or close friend. You might have graduated from the same school or maybe you are in the same profession or doing the same kind of business; all these have nothing to do with marriage. Don’t marry him or her. Don’t assume that because that person looks simple, looks gentle or is always laughing he or she can be easily converted tomorrow.  Yes, he or she may play gentleness, but the fact remains that he or she is a sinner! Don’t marry a sinner or an unbeliever. That is a clear commandment of God. If you fail to heed this divine warning, the danger is that that person will probably obstruct or even destroy your Christian faith tomorrow. He or she will affect your going to heaven. What then shall it profit you, if you get a wife or husband and lose your soul in the process? What can a man give in exchange for his soul? That is why the Lord is counselling you to choose right and in His will. Again, don’t assume that the person is a child of God because he or she is singing in the choir. Don’t assume that the person is a child of God because he is a preacher or that he or she is fervent in evangelism or doing morning calls. Don’t assume anything about anybody until you have thoroughly investigated and confirmed the truth. Prove all things and hold fast that which is good. Don’t get carried away by zealous service; for zeal is not holiness and charisma is not character. Carry out a diligent check, for you shall know them by their fruits.

Thought for the day: Marry a child of God to safeguard your soul.

Song for the day: Jesus loves me, He died for me, nobody loves me like Jesus

Bible reading for the day:

Isaiah 56-58; 1 Thessalonians 3 #Horemow

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
PRACTICE OF PRAYER AND FASTING.  WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 1 TEXT: ISAIAH 58:1-8                                                                                                        Key verse: “And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day”  Luke 2:37. The local church should teach and train her members on scriptural fasting. Believers need to know that the Lord expects...

The Testimony Of Jesus Is Spirit Of Prophecy.

God's blessings will continually accompany you for dedicating time to your studies. The Testimony Of Jesus Is Spirit Of Prophecy.  Monday 10th November  Text: Jude 1: 2-5 Key verse: Jude 1: 3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. The faith of Jesus has already been delivered and it is written in the scriptures. Whatever prophecies, revelations or dreams that comes must not be contrary to the standard in the scripture. They must speak the same thing. The testimony of Jesus is spirit of prophecy. Every prophecy or revelation must honour Jesus and must be according to the written word. Even where they are new things, they must not contradict because the Bible is a summary of the things Jesus did. The Bible cannot contain all things. It must be according to what the scripture has already signified, ...
