Restitution Is One Of The Proofs Of Genuine Conversion

For taking your time to study remain blessed.

Topic: Restitution Is One Of The Proofs Of Genuine Conversion        October Friday 2nd

Text: Luke 19:1-10

Key verse: Luke 19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

Although our sins are forgiven when we repent and confess them to God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, God still wants us to do necessary restitution because in most instances, we sinned not only against God but also against fellow human beings. What then is restitution? It involves correcting some of the wrongs we did when we were sinners in order to make peace with fellow men. Suppose you had hurt someone in the past by your wrong actions, this was a practical evil you did which will still be standing against you because you have not apologised to the person you wronged and the person is still not happy with you. May be you quarrelled with your neighbour and in the process you abused him or did something terrible to him and since then you have not been on talking terms. Now that you have become born again, in order to maintain peace with all men, restitution is required of you. You cannot continue coming across this neighbour without exchanging greetings. If you keep greeting and he is not responding, you must be concerned and make effort towards reconciliation, because you are now a new creature.

Go back to your neighbour and seek forgiveness for what you did afore time in your ignorance so that there can be peace between you and him. If you are not on speaking terms with your husband or wife do not keep quiet about it. If you keep quiet, it means you are not practicing true Christianity. If you keep quiet, it means you have not valued this holy God and His love for peace among men. Go and make peace where you have offended. You may not be sinning again, but there is a problem to settle so that the peace of righteousness can really fill your life.

Restitution is one of the essential steps a born again Christian must take to prove his genuine conversion. Zacchaeus stood and said unto the Lord, “The half of my goods I give to the poor, if I have taken anything by false accusation I return fourfold.” The Lord said, “Now is salvation come into this house.” Earlier when Zacchaeus climbed down from the tree and met Jesus, he received Jesus gladly. They went to his house and you could say Oh, he had received Christ but it was not until he promised to do his restitution that Jesus said, “Salvation is come to this house.”

Thought for the day: There are some restitutions you need to do to make your salvation complete.

THE LORD IS REMOVING UNCIRCUMCISED LEADERS

REMAIN BLESSED AS YOU TAKE YOUR TIME TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD. THURSDAY 30 DECEMBER THE LORD IS REMOVING UNCIRCUMCISED LEADERS TEXT: NUMBERS 14: 26-31  Key verse: Matthew 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many  be called, but few chosen. Completion of the angelic message: The Lord continued. “Because of this mandate given to you, I am removing around you the uncircumcised leaders. I am going to fill their place with righteous and holy leaders from various nations and races.” Truly I had pondered if any minister has suffered like this. People I loved, cherished and lived peacefully with suddenly began to speak evil against me to my shock. Well, it happens in politics, but is limited to their countries, whereas mine is international! Yes, some ministers may have suffered these things, but that was before the advent of the Internet, so their sufferings were limited. Maybe through letters or newspapers for a limited time, but my own is in the world of the I...
