Topic: DO YOUR RESTITUTION TO ENJOY THE PEACE OF GOD. October Friday 30th
Text: James 3:17-18
Key verse: Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Confess your sin one to another. Render apology to the offended party for peace sake. Restore the property stolen or falsely claimed to the right owner. Admit the truth you denied and confess the lie you told in time past. Pay back just debts you owe in good estimates. Why do we say just debts? May be you slept with harlots and you are supposed to pay the harlot money, I am not asking you to go and look for the harlot and pay righteous money to her. That is a dirty game. No restitution to harlots. You went to herbalist and collected his charm on credit and you have not finished paying. I am not asking you to go back to the herbalist to pay the balance of his money. It will bring you back to bondage. The money in your hand now is clean money. Don’t give holy things to the dogs. Harlots are dogs. A herbalist who has given you charm is a dog. Don’t give holy money to them in the name of restitution. So it should be something that is righteous.
Do your restitution to your wife. Do your restitution to your husband. Do you know something is always troubling you because you were unfaithful to your wife and the spirit is saying, “Tell your wife?” But you kept thinking, “Eh, this woman will broadcast me about,” I say tell your wife. You have been unfaithful and God is saying, “Confess it. Whatever you suffer I will give you grace and I will work on your wife.” Tell your husband of your unfaithfulness. But you are saying to yourself, “Eh, it is better I die than tell him.” Know that if you die you will go to hell. God is saying, “Tell your husband and I will justify you.” Again, you are thinking, “Ah, the marriage will break.” Know that it is better that the marriage breaks than to go and break up yourself in hell. God is giving you this assurance, “Trust me I will see you through.” Only then will your mind be peaceful. God has called you to peace but now His Spirit is not giving you rest because of your unconfessed sin. Vomit out that thing because it is a poison. You did that thing and you have not vomited out the poison. Now it is biting you and causing you great discomfort. Vomit it out and you will have rest. Go and confess that sin and enjoy your peace.
Thought for the day: When you do your restitution, you enjoy the peace of God.
Song for the day: When peace, like a river attendeth my way
Bible reading for the day: Jeremiah 27-28; 2 Timothy 4
